Dawn was a mix of Labrador and Pitbull. I vividly recall the day she came into our lives. As we were preparing to leave for school, I stepped outside first and noticed a puppy sitting at the corner of our house, seemingly waiting for us. My mother attempted to coax her over, and the puppy approached halfway before retreating. However, as soon as my mother turned her back, the puppy dashed straight to me. My mother, feeling a tinge of jealousy, urged me to name her, and I chose the name Dawn for reasons I cannot quite explain. We cherished her deeply. When I shared the story of how Dawn found us with my high school friends, they were truly amazed. When we brought our cat, Peanut, into the home, Dawn developed a strong affection for her. At night, Dawn would sleep in my bed, and she would greet me and Rosa with excitement when we returned from school. She brought joy to our lives, and the bond between her and Peanut was remarkable. One of my fondest memories of Dawn was when she snatched a hotdog from Michael's hand and devoured it in an instant, which made us all laugh. Unfortunately, Dawn fell ill one day, and we did our best to keep her comfortable. She battled the illness for two days, and on the third day, just before Rosa and I left for school, we kissed her on the head and expressed our love for her. Tragically, she passed away while we were at school. When my mother informed us after picking us up, I was devastated. Upon returning home, Peanut sensed something was amiss; she jumped into my lap and nuzzled her head against my face. Dawn was still just a puppy when she left us, and I miss her dearly.
