Rosebud the Second was a mix of Pug and Shih Tzu. A few months after the passing of Bandit, we adopted her and our dog Max from the animal shelter. Initially named Sprout, she did not respond to that name, prompting me to rename her Rosebud the Second. She had a blonde coat and a distinct personality, which I humorously attributed to her being blonde. Rosebud had a counterpart named Bayliey, who lived behind us and was grey and white. She was incredibly sweet and affectionate. Throughout the year we shared with her, she formed a close bond with my dog Walker. Rosebud enjoyed lying next to me and loved going for walks. One of her most heroic moments occurred when we were outside in the front yard. As I was about to cross the street to speak with a neighbor, Rosebud barked, causing me to pause and look at her just as a car sped by. She sensed the impending danger and barked to prevent me from stepping into the street, for which I showered her with kisses. Sadly, Rosebud passed away just a few days after Walker, as their close bond led to her succumbing to a broken heart. Rosebud was a wonderful dog, and I miss her dearly.
