Ernie was a Border Collie whom we acquired from the mother of Michael's former girlfriend. Rosa chose the name Ernie after one of the Border Collies featured in the Scottish television series "Mist: Sheepdog Tales." Ernie quickly formed a bond with Bandit, establishing an immediate friendship. He had a notably fluffy coat, and although our time with him was brief, he left an indelible impression. Being a purebred Border Collie, Ernie required regular, extended walks to expend his abundant energy. One particularly vivid memory I have of him is the playful incident when he was energetically chasing a fly and inadvertently collided with the wall. Ernie hit it with such force that he bounced off and appeared momentarily bewildered, as if unaware of what had just occurred. We had the pleasure of Ernie's company for only three months before he unexpectedly disappeared without a trace. Despite the brevity of his stay, he brought immense joy into our lives, and his absence was deeply felt.
