"Every morning when I wake up, I see naked bodies of girls floating in the air in my room," Tafeef paused abruptly.
Dr. Sifa was silent for a moment, carefully observing Tafeef. His hair was disheveled, his eyes were bloodshot, dark circles had formed under his eyes, and his once fair face looked pale. Anyone could tell that he was deeply troubled and distressed. After saying this, Tafeef huddled up in fear.
Sifa pushed a glass of water towards Tafeef. He gulped down the entire glass and sat back as before.
Dr. Sifa said,
"Do you know these girls?"
"No. I don't think I've ever seen them."
"I don't know what's happening to me. Please save me from this. If this continues, I'll go crazy."
"Calm down, Mr. Tafeef."
"If I'm to help you, I need to know the entire story. Please tell me everything that's happened."
Tafeef swallowed hard and looked at Dr. Sifa. He felt very uncomfortable telling everything to Dr. Sifa. He had come to see Iqbal Hossain, one of the city's most famous psychologists. But when he didn't find him in the chamber, he was forced to seek refuge with his daughter, Dr. Sifa.
Sifa could tell that Mr. Tafeef was uncomfortable. To make him feel at ease, Sifa started asking other questions.
"So, Mr. Tafeef, when did this incident start with you?"
"About 4-5 days ago."
"Do you see this almost every day?"
"Yes, every day whenever I sleep. I haven't slept out of fear, for the past 2 days. So I haven't seen this for the past 2 days."
"Even when I'm awake, I have to face different incidents. I feel someone's presence around me. It feels like someone is watching me. Someone is controlling me."
"When you see the bodies, have you called anyone to show them? Haven't you told your family members about this?"
"Dr. Sifa, I live alone. I don't have any family."
"1-2 hours after seeing the bodies, they disappear. I can't find those bodies even after searching the entire house. And after waking up from sleep, I find myself naked. It felt like I was involved in a physical relationship with someone."
Tafeef lowered his gaze. Dr. Sifa was a little startled, she had never encountered such a case before. She thought that perhaps the boy was hallucinating due to living alone. He had immersed himself in a strange dream.
That day, Dr. Sifa counseled Tafeef and sent him away. Tafeef returned home and sat on the bed in despair. He realized that Dr. Sifa didn't believe his story. Maybe she thought he was crazy.
She must have attributed the whole thing to his hallucinations. But he knew what was happening to him. He couldn't go on like this anymore. How long would he be able to face this without sleeping? Now he needed to do something seriously.
He decided not to sleep tonight. But his eyes kept closing. Knowing that it was impossible to stay awake, Tafeef tried to control himself.
He took a cup of coffee and sat on the balcony. He started thinking absentmindedly about why these things were happening to him. Were these hallucinations or the influence of something supernatural?
He should talk about these things with a good exorcist. Although he didn't believe in supernatural or disembodied beings, the situation had brought him to a point where everything was possible.
After a long time, Tafeef's eyes were heavy. He tried to keep them open, but it was impossible.
At that moment, the lights in the house started flickering. Suddenly, the atmosphere around him became terribly cold.
Tafeef jumped up. Something bad was definitely about to happen. From inside, terrifying sounds of commotion could be heard. The sound of girls screaming in horror, pleading for mercy, the sound of someone being repeatedly struck with a hammer. Tafeef's hands and feet went numb with fear. He got up and slowly walked towards the inner room.
Suddenly, the whole room went dark. Tafeef quickly took out his phone from his pocket and turned on the flash. He clearly saw a woman in a white sari (traditional clothing in Bangladesh) with disheveled hair standing in front of the window. He screamed in fear, "Who's there?"
Without turning her body, the woman only turned her head slowly. Tafeef frantically ran in the opposite direction in fear. He came to his room and locked the door. Then he saw the naked bodies of the girls floating in the corners of the room. He cowered in fear. He dialed Dr. Sifa's number and kept calling. When it was received, he said in one breath,
"Ms. Sifa, these are not my hallucinations. All the girls' bodies are still floating in the air in my room."
"Strange things are happening in the house."
"Mr. Tafeef, calm down."
"I think you're very scared. Fear can make our brains see many illusory things. Try to relax and sleep, come to my chamber again tomorrow."
"No, I can't sleep. If I sleep, something bad will happen to me again. I'll see you tomorrow."
After hanging up the phone, Sifa became a little worried. After seeing the boy and hearing his story, she never thought he was lying or that these were his delusions. But what is the real explanation for all this? Her father was still out of town, otherwise he would have handled the case. After searching through some books for a while, Ms. Sifa couldn't find any information about this. Therefore, she could only say that this was Mr. Tafeef's delusion or psychological reaction.
Sifa looked at Tafeef's frightened face. Something must have happened to Tafeef last night that made him so scared. Clearing her throat, Sifa asked Tafeef,
"Do you think this is the work of some disembodied being?"
"It's not just a matter of my opinion. Such things are happening to me that I have to accept the influence of these disembodied beings."
"Science doesn't believe in such things."
"I can give another explanation for this."
"Since you live alone, this loneliness and isolation are having an adverse effect on your brain. So, your brain's temporary delusions seem real or supernatural. I can suggest something, you should go out for a walk.
Relax your mind and brain. You'll see everything will be fine."
Tafeef silently agreed to Dr. Sifa's words and left. Dr. Sifa's words were not to be dismissed either. But he also thought it was necessary to talk to a exorcist. Tafeef contacted a good exorcist. The exorcist listened to everything and told him he would let him know later.
Tafeef paced back and forth on the balcony with a worried mind. There was still no news from the exorcist. Could the exorcist not handle the matter?
After thinking for a while, Tafeef picked up his phone. As soon as he dialed the priest's number, a terrible sound came from the dining room. Tafeef quickly ran to the dining room and saw that the entire floor was covered in blood.
The priest's severed head was floating in the air.
A cold liquid seemed to be running down Tafeef's entire body. He saw someone running from room to room. Tafeef ran out of the house like a madman.
He was very scared. He didn't return home for the whole night, he sat on the side of the road near the house.
