Gwen's eyes widened in horror as the words hit her. Disappeared. Just like last year. Except this time, the suspicion was on her.
"What? No!" She exclaimed, sitting up straight in her bed. "Why would they think I have anything to do with this?"
Rose's expression softened, and she sat on the edge of the bed, placing a comforting hand on Gwen's shoulder.
"I know you have nothing to do with it, Gwen. But you were out after curfew last night. They questioned Luna's friends, and they mentioned seeing you outside your room last night," she explained.
As the information sunk in, Gwen's face paled, the gravity of the situation dawning on her. She tried to think back to the events of the previous night, trying to remember if she had seen anything suspicious. She groaned in frustration, running a hand through her messy hair.
"Oh, great. This is just great. Just my luck," she muttered.
