An incoming call distracted Atticus, causing him to lose concentration on the monthly report.
He reached for his phone without checking the caller ID. Seeing that it was an unknown contact, he didn't bother picking up.
He turned on the 'do not disturb' mode before returning his focus to the report.
"I want everyone to work hard; this result isn't what I was expecting," Atticus revealed his disappointment before leaving the hall.
His phone beeped again.
Feeling frustrated, he unlocked his phone to read the message.
His eyes widened upon reading the message. 'Your wife was involved in an accident. She has been rushed to the state hospital.' The message read.
Without hesitating, he entered his office, took his car key, and stormed out without bothering to take his suit jacket.
He got into his car, started the engine, and drove off at the highest speed, not caring about violating traffic rules.
