Unlike the normal one-hour drive from his house to the hospital, it took Atticus thirty minutes to arrive at the hospital.
He pulled over before getting out of the car and walked into the hospital, heading to Kathryna's ward, the moments they spent together replaying in his head.
A bright smile made its way to his face upon seeing Kathryna. She was being fed by Gabriella, reminding him of the food he intended to bring to her.
"Atticus, you are here," Gabriella muttered as her gaze landed on him.
He smiled faintly before walking in. "Thank you for informing me that she is awake," he spoke up, his gaze fixed on Kathryna.
She was looking dull, her skin pale, barely resembling the vibrant lady he knew.
"Who is he?"
Those words were simple, yet had a great impact on him. Kathryna's words felt like a dagger piercing through his heart.
