Ella's POV:
"Yes! Finally, I got it!" I screamed, almost deafening myself in the process. My heart was racing, my face flushed with excitement as I stared at the email on my laptop screen.
After weeks of interviews, sleepless nights, and countless prayers, I had landed my dream job as the assistant to the vice president of Denco Groups. It felt like I was floating on air, my entire being buzzing with a mix of disbelief and joy.
I jumped out of bed, sending my duvet flying across the room. My tiny apartment looked like a hurricane had torn through it, papers scattered everywhere, clothes tossed haphazardly over furniture, and dishes piled up in the sink. But none of that mattered right now. All I could think about was telling Klaus, my boyfriend of three years, the incredible news.
"Klaus is going to be so ecstatic to hear this," I said to myself, grinning as I scoured the mess for my phone. I found it buried under a pile of papers in the corner of the room, its screen cracked but still functional. I fumbled with it, my fingers trembling with anticipation, and pulled up my contact list. There it was, "Mi Amor," saved with a cute little pink heart emoji beside his name. I hovered my thumb over the call button, but then hesitated.
"On second thought," I murmured, putting the phone down, "no, let me pay him a surprise visit. It's about time I cheer him up. After all, I've been a little absent and distant recently."
The realization stung a bit. I had been so caught up in my job hunt that I'd barely had time for Klaus. Our relationship had felt like it was on autopilot for the past few weeks, and I hated that. But now, I was determined to make it right. With this new job, I could finally relax, give Klaus the attention he deserved, and maybe even plan something special for us.
I bit my bottom lip, smiling at the thought, and then rushed to the bathroom to get ready. My mind was already racing with ideas of how I could make it up to him, maybe a weekend getaway, or a romantic dinner, or just a cozy night in. Whatever it was, I was going to pour all my love into it.
Moments later, I was standing in front of my mirror, critically examining my outfit. I had chosen a simple yet elegant dress, paired with my favorite heels, the ones that clicked with every step, making me feel confident and poised. I smoothed down the fabric, adjusted my hair, and added a touch of lip gloss for good measure. Everything had to be perfect.
I grabbed my purse, took one last look in the mirror, and headed out the door. The whole way to Klaus's apartment, I couldn't stop smiling. I imagined his face lighting up when I told him the news, the way he would pull me into his arms and tell me how proud he was. It was going to be perfect.
The elevator ride up to his floor felt like an eternity. My heart was pounding with excitement, my mind already rehearsing the words I would say when I saw him.
"Click, click," my heels echoed softly on the polished floor as I walked down the hallway toward his apartment.
A strange feeling suddenly crept over me, something I couldn't quite put my finger on. I brushed it off, telling myself it was just nerves, and reached for the spare key he'd given me.
As I stood in front of his door. I hesitated for a moment, reexamining my outfit, smoothing down the fabric again. I wanted to look my best when I surprised him.
Taking a deep breath, I slid the key into the lock and turned the knob. The door creaked open, and I stepped inside, already opening my mouth to call out his name.
"Klaus, you won't believe what happened today, I..."
The words died in my throat as my eyes adjusted to the dim light of the apartment. I froze, my breath catching in my chest as the scene before me came into sharp focus.
Klaus was there, but he wasn't alone.
He was in our bed...no, his bed now... with another woman. They were entangled in the sheets, her body moving rhythmically against his, both of them completely oblivious to my presence. Klaus was gripping her waist tightly, his face twisted in pleasure, his mouth forming words I couldn't hear over the blood rushing in my ears.
I stood there, paralyzed, unable to move, unable to speak. My mind was struggling to make sense of what I was seeing, but the reality of it hit me like a sledgehammer. My heart plummeted into my stomach, my whole world crashing down around me.
Klaus's eyes flickered open, finally noticing me standing there. For a brief moment, I thought I saw a flash of guilt in his eyes, but it was gone as quickly as it appeared. Instead, he smirked..."smirked..." and continued what he was doing, driving into her with renewed vigor, as if my presence only spurred him on.
"What… what are you doing?" I finally managed to choke out, my voice trembling, barely above a whisper.
He didn't stop. He didn't even pause. He just grunted, his hands tightening around the woman's waist as she moaned louder, her voice dripping with exaggerated pleasure.
"Please, Klaus," I begged, my voice breaking. "Tell me this isn't happening."
He didn't answer. Instead, he pushed deeper into her, eliciting another high-pitched moan that pierced through me like a dagger. The woman turned her head slightly, catching my gaze, and a cruel smile curled on her lips. She was enjoying this, enjoying my pain, my humiliation.
I felt a wave of nausea rise in my throat, my knees threatening to buckle. This couldn't be real. This had to be some sort of nightmare. But no matter how hard I tried to wake up, the scene in front of me only grew clearer, sharper.
Finally, Klaus slowed down, his body shuddering as he reached his release. He pulled out of her with a groan, his chest heaving as he collapsed onto the bed. The woman rolled over, still panting, her eyes half-closed in satisfaction.
And then, as if I were nothing more than a bothersome insect, Klaus turned to me with a sneer. "What are you doing here, bitch?"
