The next day…
Elisa's pov
I wore a beautiful silver satin long dress for the main event. Apparently, Tristan chose it for me to match with his outfit.
"You're looking so pretty." Tara's eyes perked up as she uttered the words.
"Thank you!" A smile glinted on my lips.
She sighed.
"The rumor about Silver Crest pack's new Luna has already spread in the pack and everyone is desperately waiting for you outside the mansion."
"Why do you look so worried?"
My brows furrowed.
She held my palm tightly.
"They don't know who the new Luna is and once they find out…"
"Don't worry!" My tender voice interrupted her anxious doubts.
It's only been two weeks but Tara has grown closer to me. Her eyes always show genuine concern for my well-being.
"I can handle them."
My words assured her fear.
She nodded her head, even though she wasn't fully convinced.
There were other maids, too, but Tara was the only one who accepted me in the mansion. The other maids would only whisper bad things behind my back.
Who would like an enemy's ex-wife?
It didn't matter though.
As long as Tristan Presley was on my side, nothing else mattered.
Tara opened the door and we stepped out of my bedroom together. She escorted me to a big balcony on the second floor. Tristan was already standing at the edge.
Our eyes locked and a cold breeze brushed through my skin.
He was wearing a silver satin shirt matching with my dress. His devilish blue eyes scanned me from top to bottom and a smirk arose on the corner of his mouth.
"You did a great job, Tara." His husky voice praised her, instead of giving me a compliment.
She bowed her head and went back to her quarter, leaving me alone with Tristan.
"Come closer." His deep voice commanded.
My feet slowly approached him at the edge and I was stunned to see the crowd gathered outside the mansion.
"Are they here for me?" I asked.
"Everyone is interested to see the woman who dared to marry their cursed Alpha!" He answered sarcastically.
Josh also arrived on the balcony and stood beside Tristan. Whispers replenished the air and each one of them was curious about my identity.
"SILENCE" Josh groaned.
Everyone listened.
"Greet Alpha Tristan!" He demanded.
Everyone knelt on the ground and bowed their heads to Tristan.
"Now, bow to your Luna…Elisa Presley." Josh announced.
My name shocked the crowd.
In the entire Forest Hill, there was only one girl with the name Elisa. Since that unlucky girl couldn't shift into her wolf, she was famous not only in her pack, but in other packs, too.
She was the only wolf who couldn't shift.
Parents would never name their daughters Elisa, and those with the name Elisa changed it to another name.
My name was a shame to them.
Whispers again filled their mouths and this time they were angry, disappointed, vengeful, rebellious.
"Is she Elisa Lopez?"
"The unlucky wolf who couldn't shift?"
"She's our enemy."
"She's Kian Salvatore' wife!"
All of a sudden…
A young woman came forward, tweaked mud from the ground, and flung it in the air aiming at my face.
I closed my eyes and blocked the view with my two hands in order to protect myself from getting hit by a chunk of mud, yet nothing happened.
My eyes slowly opened and my hands dropped to sides. Tristan was standing in front of me as my shield.
"Are you okay?" I inquired worriedly.
He didn't answer my question, instead turned to the crowd. His expensive shirt was ruined because of me.
"Catch that woman and bring her to my prison!" He commanded the guards handling the crowd downstairs.
"ALPHA!" A man shouted.
"We can't accept this witch as our Luna."
"She's from the enemy pack."
"What if this witch is hiding some evil motive and destroys our clan?"
Everyone else started with the same chant.
Till now I was called many bad things but never a witch. It was something new to my collection of horrendous nicknames.
"Choose someone else, Alpha."
"She will ruin us!"
Tristan was about to say something, but my feet stepped forward and he held back.
My eyes faced the crowd with fierce eyes.
"I am aware that you all hate me and if I were in your place, I would have felt the same."
My lips sucked in a breath.
"My ex-husband cheated on me with my best friend and kicked me out of his mansion and the pack."
The crowd was startled.
"When my own pack left my side, your Alpha took me in and saved my life. He's my savior and I would never bite the hand that protected me."
My face could feel Tristan' glance.
"Have your faith in me."
"If you ever feel that I did something wrong or tried to hurt any of you…I will willingly accept any punishment."
Silence replenished the breeze.
"Also, let go of that woman. She was just angry, nothing else." I turned my gaze to Tristan and requested.
"You want me to let her go?"
His brow twitched.
My head nodded.
"Let her go." He faced the guards and commanded in his hostile tone.
The guards released her
Surprisingly, she bowed before me and I was quite taken aback.
"Forgive my sin, Luna."
The tightness swiftly disappeared from my chest and it felt like a small victory.
"You're forgiven." My soft tone answered.
"Thank you, Luna."
"Thank you so much."
A smile glinted on my lips and my face turned to Tristan again.
"I, Elisa Presley, vow to give birth to the Silver Crest pack's heir."
The crowd was amazed.

Later at night…
Tara was so happy that she kept praising me until dawn. Tristan didn't say anything, but he appeared to be pleased. Even Josh complimented my speech.
For the first time in my life, I stood my ground with so much confidence.
After an exhausting day, my feet stepped out in the garden for a stroll and a loud scream rising from immense pain reached my ears.
"Is someone in danger?"
Without thinking twice, I rushed to the dark woods.
