Two days later…
Elisa's pov
I have been locked in my bedroom for two days and no one was allowed to step inside except for Tara, Tristan, and Josh.
Tara was the only one who showed her trust in me, whereas everyone else had their eyes filled with suspicion.
She would tell me everything about the investigation process since Tristan never entered my bedroom.
He was suspicious of me as well.
Isn't that why he locked me in my room?
Surprisingly, Tristan didn't allow anyone to leak the news to the pack or the people would cross every boundary to kill me.
I always stand at my window and see Tristan leaving the mansion with Josh and a few other guests. Our eyes locked a few times, but most of the time his gaze was either cold or empty.
"What is going on outside?"
My soft tone asked.
"Josh is suspicious of you, Madam." Tara answered.
"The maids and the guards, they all are suspicious of you, Madam."
I was an enemy and it was natural for them to not believe my words. Also, those men died in my hands.
The reason doesn't matter to them…they only care about the fact that an enemy killed their pack's people.
My lips sucked in a deep breath.
"Seems like death is knocking at my door."
"Madam, don't say that." Tara interrupted.
"Have faith in Alpha, he will prove your innocence." She uttered the words with so much trust in Tristan.
"It was my fault to run to the woods without telling anyone." My heart was deeply regretting that decision.
"Everything will be fine, Madam."
Tara smiled.
All of a sudden…
The door opened and Tristan stepped into my room for the first time after that night.
"Leave!" He commanded Tara.
She bowed her head and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.
"Is something wrong?" My chest tightened.
He came closer and glared into my eyes.
"Tell me honestly…"
"Is Kian Salvatore helping you?"
"Whatever you said back then about your husband was a lie, wasn't it?"
My eyes widened.
He was suspecting me that I was helping Kian against his pack.
"That's not true." My lips murmured anxiously.
He cupped my cheeks and pulled me closer.
"I can't believe Kian Salvatore!"
"That idiot is so fucking desperate for revenge that he even sent his wife to sleep with his enemy."
Tears rolled down my eyes.
"I am innocent, Tristan."
"I didn't do any-thing wrong."
He freed my cheeks and pulled out his handkerchief from his pants' pocket.
My brows furrowed.
"Wipe your tears."
His deep voice muttered softly.
I gently grabbed the handkerchief from his hand and brushed through my tears.
"Are you going to kill me?" The thought finally entered my head.
He chuckled.
"Are you scared?"
My head nodded to his words. I couldn't pretend to be strong anymore.
"One evidence against you, Elisa Lopez, and I will kill you." He was clear with his intention.
"Elisa Presley."
My lips corrected his mistake.
He twitched a brow.
"You promised to protect me at the altar when we exchanged vows, remember?" I reminded him.
"Is that some kind of threat?"
His eyes darkened.
My feet stepped into his space and I tightly clutched his black satin shirt in my fingers.
"This is not a threat, but a reminder."
"A reminder?" He tilted his head.
"You should protect your wife at all costs."
A mischievous smile glinted on his lips and in the blink of an eye, he pinned me against the wall.
"So my wife…"
"Are you really innocent?"
"Yes." I said without blinking.
"If I save you then what will you do for your husband?" His lips moved closer to mine and whispered.
I had nothing to offer except for one thing.
"You're free to touch me however and whenever you wish." My soul was embarrassed, yet there was no other choice but to break my own rule.
"Are you removing your condition from your contract?" He questioned.
"What other choice do I have?"
Unexpectedly, he kissed my neck and I froze for a second.
"Tristan Presley will do anything to save his wife, so rest assured." Having said that, he kissed the bottom of my long hair.
It felt like I sold my soul to the devil.
My hair slipped free from his fingers.
"If you ever break my trust…I'm going to stab your heart with my favorite dagger." His mouth wasn't joking.
"Fine!" My lips agreed.
He glanced at my face one last time and walked out of the room.
I was relieved that he would at least protect me for now. Tristan Presley was my hope and fear at the same time.
"You can't act naive, Elisa." My lips murmured alone.
"You have to be alert in this pack 24/7."
"No more rash decisions!"

Meanwhile in the Crest Moon pack…
Mia's pov
Kian was finally mine and even the pack accepted me by his side. If only he knew how much trouble I went through to snatch him from Elisa.
We were childhood friends but she had everything and I had nothing. Elisa couldn't shift into her wolf, but despite her weakness she was enjoying a lavish lifestyle. Her family was rich, whereas mine was struggling every day.
I was always jealous of her wealth.
I hated her.
Kian used to come to her hosue all the time and that led Elisa secretly developed feelings for him.
I never cared about it that much…until we grew up and she was revealed as Kian's fated mate and his soon-to-be wife.
My jealousy ramped up.
How could she be so lucky?
How could she have everything?
Elisa was the weakest wolf in our pack, yet her life was full of bliss.
I decided to take Kian from her.
I approached him with pure friendship and slowly started to manipulate his mind against Elisa.
My lips even lied to him about Elisa being barren. The reason he never stepped into their bedroom.
Kian even told his father about it, but that old man was very fond of Elisa. He didn't give his permission for divorce.
But the truth was…
I am the one who is barren, not Elisa.
After Kian's father's death, my words dipped themselves into a vicious lie to throw away Elisa once and for all.
A fake pregnancy.
*Sigh
"I just have to find someone who can secretly give birth instead of me."
Kian will soon announce me as the Crest Moon pack's Luna, then everything will fall under my control.
