Chapter 19 - THE BROKEN PAST

Chapter 19

Luna's POV

We gathered around the table, Sophia, Xavier, Desmond, Jessica, Dami, and I, discussing our plan to take down Mr. Anthonio. "Okay, so we have the information about his secret daughter," Xavier said, his eyes locked on Sophia. "How do we use it?" Sophia smiled. "Leave that to me. I'll make sure she's safe and willing to cooperate."

Desmond nodded. "And I'll handle the tech side. I'll hack into Mr. Anthonio's system and gather evidence." Jessica and Dami nodded, their faces set with determination. "We'll handle the ground work. We'll gather intel and make sure we're ready for anything." I nodded, feeling a sense of worry, I miss my boy. We were a team, and together, we could do this.

Xavier's eyes locked on mine. "Luna, you're with me. We'll go see Mr. Anthonio's daughter and convince her to cooperate." I nodded, my heart racing. This was it. We were taking down Mr. Anthonio, and nothing would stop us.

Mr. Anthonio's POV

I sat in my office, a sense of unease settling in. Something was off. I could feel it. Suddenly, my assistant burst in. "Sir, we have a problem. Sophia has been seen with Xavier and his team." My eyes narrowed. Sophia, that traitor. I should have known better than to trust her. "Get me my daughter Ale," I growled. "Now." But as I waited for my daughter Alessia to arrive, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was running out of time. Xavier and his team were closing in, and I knew I had to act fast. My daughter, Alessia, walked in, her eyes wide with fear. "Father, what's going on, who is Cassandra?" I forced a smile. "Nothing, my dear. Just a little business matter." But Alessia wasn't fooled. She knew me too well.

"Father, I've been seeing things," she said, her voice trembling. "People watching me, following me, Xavier, Cassandra, what is going on. I think Xavier is behind it." My heart raced. How did she know? "Alessia, listen to me," I said, my voice firm. "Xavier is a dangerous man. He's using you to get to me. You can't trust him." But Alessia shook her head. "I don't know, Father. I think he might be telling the truth." I knew then that I had lost her. Xavier had gotten to her, and now she was a liability.

Xavier's POV

Luna and I arrived at the safe house, where Sophia was waiting with Alessia.

Alessia looked up at us, her eyes wide with fear. "You're Xavier." I nodded. "I am. And I'm here to help you." Alessia looked at Sophia, who nodded encouragingly. "Tell him Ale," Sophia said. "Tell him everything." And with that, Alessia began to speak, revealing secrets about her father's empire that would bring him down once and for all.

Luna's POV

I watched as Alessia spoke, her words spilling out like a confession. I knew then that we had won. Mr. Anthonio's empire was crumbling, and there was no going back. But as we left the safe house, I couldn't shake off the feeling that we were in danger. Mr. Anthonio wouldn't go down without a fight. And then, I saw them. Men in suits, watching us from across the street. "Xavier," I whispered, my heart racing. "We have a problem."

Xavier's POV

I followed Luna's gaze and saw the men in suits. My instincts kicked in, and I knew we had to act fast. "Get down," I whispered, pulling Luna and Alessia into a nearby alleyway. Desmond, Jessica, and Dami appeared out of nowhere, surrounding us with a protective shield. "What's going on?" Desmond asked, his eyes scanning the area. "Mr. Anthonio's men," I replied, my voice low. "We need to get Alessia to a safe place." Sophia nodded, her eyes locked on Alessia. "I'll take her. I know a place." I nodded, trusting Sophia to keep Alessia safe.

Luna's POV

We moved swiftly through the streets, trying to shake off Mr. Anthonio's men. But they were relentless, always one step behind. Suddenly, Sophia stopped and turned to us. "We're here." She led us into an abandoned building, where a secret underground bunker was hidden.1

Alessia's eyes widened as she took in the bunker. "This is amazing, who were those men?." Sophia smiled. "Welcome to our safe haven, and those were your father's men sent to kill us all." But as we caught our breath, I knew we couldn't stay hidden forever. Mr. Anthonio would find us, and next time, he wouldn't be so easy to shake off.

Mr. Anthonio's POV

I watched as Xavier and his team disappeared into the abandoned building. I knew they thought they were safe, but I had a surprise waiting for them. I turned to my men. "Get the explosives ready. We're going to blow that building to kingdom come." My men nodded, and I smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction, sharply I remember Alessia was with them in that building, I ordered my men to retreat. Xavier and his team thought they had won, but they were wrong. I am the one who always came out on top.
