Chapter 25 - THE BROKEN PAST

Chapter 25

– Xavier's POV

I wake up, feeling Luna's warm body beside me. I wrap my arms around her, pulling her close. She stirs, smiling, and we start another intimate moment. As we move together, I feel like I'm home. I don't want to leave her, don't want to let go. Just as we're lost in our own world, there's a knock at the door. My mom's voice calls out, "Dinner's ready, Luna! Don't come out till tomorrow, you need more time together." We laugh, knowing we can't ignore her orders. We reluctantly separate, and I get up to open the door. My mom smiled, handing me a tray of food. "Eat, love, and enjoy each other's company. You two need this." I take the tray, feeling grateful. "Thanks, Mum. We will." As I close the door, Luna smiles at me, and we sit down to eat together, savoring each bite and each other's company.

We don't need words; our love speaks for itself. We finish dinner, and I pull Luna back into bed, holding her close. We sleep, wrapped in each other's arms, our love shining bright. The next morning, I wake up to Luna's gentle touch. We smile at each other, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. "I love you," I whisper, my voice filled with emotion. "I love you too," Luna replies, her eyes sparkling. We lie there for a moment, enjoying each other's company. Then, we hear a knock at the door. It's my mom again, with a warm smile.

"Good morning, love birds! I brought breakfast. Andre's waiting for you, but don't worry, Alessia's with him." We nod, still wrapped in each other's arms. We know Andre's still stuck in his room, fighting his battle. We'll visit him soon, but for now, we savor this moment together. After breakfast, we head to Andre's room, hand in hand. He smiles weakly, but his eyes light up when he sees us. "Mommy! Daddy!" he exclaims, his voice weak but full of joy.

We hug him gently, careful not to tire him out. We spend the morning with him, talking and laughing, trying to lift his spirits. As we leave his room, Luna turns to me, tears in her eyes. "We'll get through this, Xavier. Together." I nod, holding her close. "Always, my love. Always."

– Xavier's POV

As we step out of Andre's room, I can see the worry etched on Luna's face. I pull her close, trying to reassure her. "We'll get through this, Luna. Andre's strong, and he's got the best team fighting for him." Luna nods, but I can see the fear lingering in her eyes. I know she's thinking about the what-ifs, the uncertainties of Andre's condition. I take her hand, leading her to the living room. My mom and Tania are there, waiting for us with warm smiles.

"We need to talk," My Mom says, her voice gentle but firm. "About the future, about Andre's treatment options." We sit down, facing each other, ready to confront whatever comes next. We know it won't be easy, but we're in this together, as a family. As we discuss Andre's future, I look at Luna, and she looks at me. We know we'll face it together, no matter what. Just as we're discussing Andre's treatment options, the doorbell rings. Alessia gets up to answer it, and we hear a familiar voice.

"Hey, everyone! I'm back!" It's Jessica. She walks in, carrying a suitcase and wearing a warm smile. "Jessica! Welcome back!" Luna exclaims, getting up to hug her. We all greet Jessica, happy to see her. She's been working in Country A, representing Luna at the Saviors Medical Center. "I've got so much to fill you in on," Jessica says, sitting down with us. "But first, how's Andre doing?"

We update her on Andre's condition, and she listens intently. Then, she starts sharing her own news, telling us about the medical breakthroughs she's witnessed and the connections she's made. As we listen, I can see the excitement in Luna's eyes. She's eager to hear more, to learn from Jessica's experiences.

After dinner, Jessica pulls out her reports, sharing detailed information about the medical center and its innovative treatments. We listen, fascinated, knowing that this could be the key to Andre's recovery.

Luna's POV

I'm so glad Jessica's back! She walks in, carrying a suitcase and wearing a warm smile. We hug, and I can feel the exhaustion melting away from her body. "How was your trip?" I ask, curious about her time in Country A. "It was amazing," Jessica replies, sitting down with us. "I learned so much, and I think I can help Andre even more now."

Xavier and I exchange a hopeful glance. We've been worried sick about our son, and any good news is welcome. Jessica starts sharing her stories, telling us about the medical breakthroughs she's witnessed and the connections she's made. I listen intently, my mind racing with possibilities.

After dinner, Jessica pulls out her reports, sharing detailed information about the medical center and its innovative treatments. I devour every word, feeling a sense of hope rising within me. As we discuss the possibilities, I glance at Xavier, seeing the same hope reflected in his eyes. We're in this together, always.

Alessia's POV

I'm delighted to spend time with Jessica in the garden, picking fresh fruits and enjoying the warm sunshine. We chat and laugh, and I feel a sense of camaraderie with her. As we work, I mention Dami, and Jessica's expression changes. "Alessia, can I ask you something?" she says, her voice curious. "Of course, what is it?" I reply, wondering what's on her mind. "I know this might sound strange, but…do you think Dami has feelings for me?" Jessica asks, looking skeptical.

I nod enthusiastically. "Yes, I'm sure of it! Dami's been in love with you for a while now." Jessica's eyes widen in disbelief. "What? No way! He's never said anything to me."

I smile knowingly. "That's because Dami's shy, and he doesn't want to risk losing your friendship. But trust me, I've seen the way he looks at you." Jessica looks stunned, and I can tell she's processing this new information. I hope this conversation might spark something between them. I can see the skepticism in Jessica's eyes, so I decide to offer some advice. "Okay, here's what you need to do. First, pay attention to how Dami looks at you. Does he hold your gaze for longer than usual?"

Jessica nods, intrigued. "Next, notice how he interacts with you. Does he find excuses to touch your arm or shoulder? Does he lean in when you talk?" Jessica's eyes widen as she recalls moments like these. "Also, pay attention to how he talks about you to others. Does he praise you and defend you when needed?" Jessica nods again, a smile spreading across her face. "Lastly, see how he reacts when you're around other guys. Does he get jealous or protective?" Jessica laughs, remembering a time when Dami got possessive. I grin mischievously. "If he checks most of these boxes, then yes, Dami is definitely in love with you!"

Jessica looks thoughtful, processing this new information. I hope my tips will help her see Dami in a new light.

Jessica's POV

I feel a flutter in my chest as Alessia shares her tips. Could it be true? Is Dami really in love with me? I think back to our interactions, and I have to admit, I've noticed some of these signs before. But I hope to see them again, to be sure. I turn to Alessia, my mind racing with excitement. "Thanks for telling me this, Alessia! I'll definitely pay attention." Alessia smiles knowingly.

"I'm sure you'll see the signs again. Just keep an open heart." I nod, feeling a sense of hope. Then, I remember someone else I've been meaning to ask about. "Hey, how's Simone doing? I feel like I haven't seen him around lately." Alessia's expression turns serious. "Simone's been going through a tough time. He's been struggling with his own demons, but he's getting help."

I nod, concerned. "I'm glad to hear that. Please send him my best." Alessia nods, and we continue chatting, but my mind keeps wandering back to Dami. I hope to see those signs again, to know for sure how he feels.

Dami's POV

I sit in the control room, monitoring the security feeds. My eyes land on the garden camera, and I see Jessica and Alessia laughing and picking fruits together. My heart skips a beat as I watch Jessica, her smile radiant in the sunlight. I've been in love with her for so long, but I've never mustered the courage to tell her. What if she doesn't feel the same way? What if I ruin our friendship?

I watch as Alessia says something to Jessica, and she nods enthusiastically. I wonder what they're talking about. Is it about me? Does Jessica suspect how I feel? I feel a pang of curiosity, seeing them so close. But I know Alessia's just trying to help. She's always been a good friend to both of us. As I continue to watch, Jessica glances around, and for a moment, I think she sees me. But she doesn't. She goes back to chatting with Alessia, oblivious to my gaze. I sigh, feeling a mix of emotions. I want to be with her, but I'm scared. Scared of rejection, scared of losing our friendship. But seeing her now, I know I have to try. I have to take the chance.
