Chapter 20
Mr. Anthonio's POV
I watched from a distance as my men surrounded Xavier's mansion. But just as they were about to attack, I saw my daughter, Alessia, standing with Xavier's family. My heart stopped. I couldn't risk harming my own flesh and blood. "Stand down," I ordered my men. "We can't risk harming Alessia."
My men hesitated, but eventually, they retreated. I knew this wasn't over. Xavier still had to pay for what he did to me. But for now, I had to prioritize my daughter's safety.
- Cassandra's POV
I watched as Andre and Tania walked out of the mansion, enjoying their evening stroll. My eyes narrowed. Now was my chance. I signaled to my men, and they moved in, trying to kidnap Andre. But Tania was quick, and she fought them off. I growled in frustration. Foiled again.
- Xavier's POV
I sat in my study, staring at the medical reports in front of me. My heart sank as I read the diagnosis. My son, Andre, had an incurable disease. Manageable, but life-altering. I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was Luna. "What is it?" she asked, concern etched on her face. I showed her the reports. She gasped. "We'll get through this," she said, determination in her voice. But I knew it wouldn't be easy.
- Luna's POV
I watched as Xavier struggled to come to terms with the diagnosis. I knew he felt helpless. But I also knew we had to be strong for Andre. We had to support him through this. I took Xavier's hand. "We'll face this together," I said. He nodded, a small smile on his face.
- Andre's POV
I didn't understand what was going on. But I knew mummy was not happy. Mommy and Daddy were acting strange, and they kept talking about some disease. I felt a lump in my throat. Was I sick?
Tania's POV
I walked back to the mansion with Andre, my heart still racing from the attempted kidnapping. I knew Cassandra was behind it. "Auntie Tania are you okay, who were those bad people?" Andre asked, concern etched on his face. I nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. But we need to tell Daddy about this okay." Andre nodded in agreement.
Dami's POV
I watched as Tania and Andre walked back to the mansion. I knew something was wrong. "Jessica, Desmond, we have a problem," I said, my voice low. They nodded, and we moved in, surrounding the mansion.
- Mrs. Maria's POV
I watched as my family gathered in the living room. I knew something was wrong. Xavier took a deep breath. "We need to talk about Andre's diagnosis." I nodded, my heart heavy with worry, why is my little boy sick. As they discussed the diagnosis, I couldn't help but think of Mr. Anthonio. He was still out there, waiting for his chance to strike.
Andre's POV
I felt weak and tired all the time. I couldn't understand why. Mom and Dad were always worrying about me, taking me to see doctors. But today was different. Today, I couldn't breathe. My chest hurt, and I felt like I was going to pass out. "Mom!" I cried, panic setting in. Luna rushed to my side. "Andre, oh God, Andre!"
Xavier called for the doctor, and soon our home was filled with medical equipment. I was hospitalized at home, surrounded by machines beeping and whirring.
I felt scared and alone. I didn't understand what was happening to me.
- Xavier's POV
I watched as my son fought for his life. The machines beeped and whirred, keeping him alive. I felt helpless, unable to do anything but watch. Luna held my hand, her eyes filled with tears. "We'll get through this," she whispered.
But I couldn't shake off the feeling of despair.
Luna's POV
I watched as Andre's condition worsened. He was in so much pain, and I couldn't do anything to help. Xavier was beside himself, feeling helpless. I knew I had to be strong for both of them. But it was hard, seeing my son like this.
Andre's POV
I felt like I was trapped in a never-ending nightmare. The pain, the machines, the constant fear. I just wanted it to stop. But it didn't. I had to struggle, every day, every hour, every minute. Mommy and Daddy were always there, holding my hand, whispering words of encouragement. But even their love couldn't chase away the darkness.
Xavier's POV
I watched as Andre's spirit began to fade. He was tired, so tired, of fighting. I knew I had to do something, anything, to save my son. I turned to Luna, desperation in my eyes. "We have to try something new," I said. "We can't just sit here and watch him slip away." Luna nodded, determination in her voice. "We'll find a way," she said. "We won't give up."
Luna's POV
I searched every medical journal, every research paper, every expert in the field. I was determined to find a way to save Andre. Xavier was by my side, every step of the way. Together, we fought for our son's life. But the clock was ticking, and time was running out.
Suddenly I saw a Digital illustration of Alessia holding a basket of herbs, yes immediately I asked Xavier to contact Sophia so she could sent for Alessia to be brought to us safely.
Alessia's POV
I knew I had to help. Xavier's son, Andre, was suffering, and I knew I had the knowledge to ease his pain. I approached Xavier and Luna, my heart pounding in my chest. "Please, let me help," I said. "I know of herbal remedies that can ease Andre's suffering." Xavier and Luna exchanged skeptical glances, but I could see the desperation in their eyes.
"Okay," Xavier said finally. "But you have to stay here, with us, to help Andre." I nodded, knowing this was a chance to make a difference. As I settled into their home, I began to work on my herbal remedies. I spent hours in the kitchen, brewing teas and mixing poultices. Andre was skeptical at first, but as he began to feel the effects of my remedies, he started to trust me. "Thank you, Alessia," he said, his eyes filled with gratitude. I smiled, feeling a sense of purpose.
Xavier's POV
I watched as Alessia worked her magic. Andre was responding to her herbal remedies, and I couldn't believe the change. Luna smiled, her eyes shining with tears. "Thank you, Alessia," she said. "You're a miracle worker." Alessia blushed, her eyes downcast. But I knew the truth. She was more than just a miracle worker. She was a guardian angel, sent to save my son.
Alessia's POV
I sat beside Andre's bed, watching his chest rise and fall with each breath. He was still unconscious, but I knew he was fighting. I had to stay, to watch over him, to ensure my herbal remedies were working. Xavier and Luna nodded in agreement, grateful for my help.
As the days passed, I tended to Andre, changing his poultices, brewing new teas, and whispering words of encouragement. Slowly but surely, Andre began to stir. His eyes flickered open, and he gazed up at me, confused. "Who...who are you?" he whispered. I smiled, my heart full of joy. "I'm Alessia," I said. "I've been taking care of you."
Andre's eyes closed again, but I knew he was on the mend.
Xavier's POV
I watched as Alessia cared for Andre, her dedication and kindness inspiring. Luna smiled, her eyes shining with tears. "Alessia is a gift from God," she whispered. I nodded, my heart full of gratitude. As Andre slowly recovered, I knew we owed it all to Alessia. But as she stayed by his side, I began to realize that Alessia was more than just a healer. She was a part of our family now.
Xavier's POV
I watched as Alessia cared for Andre, her dedication and kindness inspiring. But I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. She was Mr. Anthonio's daughter, after all. The same man who had tried to destroy me and my family. Luna seemed to sense my tension. "Xavier, we can trust her," she said. "She's helping Andre." I nodded, but my mind was racing. What if this was all a ploy? What if Alessia was gathering information for her father? But as I looked at Alessia, I saw only kindness and compassion. Maybe, just maybe, she was different from her father.
Alessia's POV
I knew my father would never approve of me helping Xavier's family. But I couldn't just stand by and watch Andre suffer.. As I cared for him, I saw the good in Xavier and Luna. They were not the monsters my father made them out to be. But I knew I had to be careful. If my father found out, he would be furious. I pushed the thought aside and focused on Andre's recovery. That's all that mattered now.
