For a minute, the entire room was unsettling, and Jeb was at a loss for words. Laura was taken aback, unsure of what to say and do. She wondered who this Emily he mentioned was, but she couldn't ask. It's not proper.
Then Jeb found his voice, and he started talking. "I do apologize. I thought you were a friend I hadn't seen in a long time. Your resemblance was astounding." He explained, still astonished.
"I understand, Sir; many people had told me that before, and I'm used to it by now."
She felt they had previously known one another, but she could not tell him she had forgotten part of her memories. With him, she felt at ease, almost like an old friend.
They began their interview process. However, Jeb's mind was already made up regardless of what she said. He already planned on hiring her, and even though she had no experience in the entertainment industry, as she said, he would recruit her to be his assistant.
