Something about his stare tugged at her heart. She couldn't help herself and lowered herself to his level so they could talk face-to-face.

"Son, are you okay? Do I genuinely look like your mommy? Well, I wouldn't mind being your mommy if you don't have one, if that would make you happy." Laura only said to comfort the boy, but when he heard it...A smile broke on his lips.

"Really! Okay, I would like that since I don't have Mommy anymore. My name is Aiden...M- Mommy." He stammered as he called her mommy. Before shying away as he looked at the ground.

Laura once again ruffled his hair before pulling Aiden and giving him a tight embrace. She felt something oddly familiar; it was very comforting to hold Aiden. She didn't want to let go, which is odd.

He didn't back down when Laura drew Aiden into her tight embrace. Instead, he put his arms around her neck, and his face grew with tears.

"Mommy..." He spoke softly in Laura's ear.
