Leo's POV
I woke up this morning rearing to go, I had multiple projects that needed to get done before the pack meeting tonight and I am on thin ice with the counsel because I refuse to go to these stupid mixers to find a mate. I could feel my wolf getting anxious Mate "No! I get you want us to keep looking for our mate but if I was going to find our mate it would have happened earlier, not at 30 years old. To be honest I fucking hate being Alpha, your not meant to rule alone and I would be perfectly fine handing the title over to someone else and I would do that if I thought they would give it to someone besides my baby brother. The responsibility would be too heavy for him and its bad enough as it is that the responsibility of producing the next Alpha is on his head. He just found his mate a few weeks ago and he wanted to take it slow before throwing that burden on her. I know the counsel is already pressuring him to produce an heir, although he hasn't said anything, there has been whispers and I can see how tense Dom is.
I jumped out of bed and went to the bathroom to take a shower and get ready for the day. I had a meeting with a client who came in from Houston, Texas they want to hire multiple Architects. This will be a once in a lifetime project and it has to go off without a hitch. I put on my gray suit with a light white shirt with my lucky red tie and did my hair. I walked out of the pack house just as Greg our security guard was trading posts with security guard Chris "Alpha" they both nodded at me as I was walking past, I stopped to acknowledge them and then continued on jump in my vehicle and head to work.
Damn, I forgot to eat I decided to just pick up food and coffee at the bistro near work. When I walked into the bistro, there was a line and I looked at my watch hoping I had enough time to make it. I finally got to the barista and ordered a sandwich and a coffee to go and as I waited for my order the most exquisite scent filled my nose Sunflower, Chamomile, Bergamot with a small hint of honey. The scent enveloped me and took me over completely Mate! My wolf started felt like he was pacing in my head, I felt my eyes shift to black and had to force myself and him to calm down "I know its our mate but whoever she is probably isnt going to like us If I look like a mad man so calm the fuck down" I started looking around left and right scanning the room for her. The scent started to fade and I panicked, I ran towards the door to find her and found a purse on the ground with her scent all over it, I looked up as the front door closed and ran out to find her. I searched as long as I could before I had to get to the office for the meeting which caused my wolf to be angry with me, he wanted to keep looking. I had completely left my food and coffee and would have to just wait till I left. I went to the meeting and tried my best to keep my composure as best I could but apparently not well enough because once I was back in my office pacing back and forth Dom came in and shut the door once he saw the state I was in.
"Um.. you going to tell me whats going on with this?" he gestured to my feet "Or are you just going to keep going until you ware down the carpet" He smirked but his eyes had some concern in them.
"I found her" I said as I continued to pace. I couldn't bring myself to say another word.
"Her? Your going to have to elaborate brother." he said with a chuckle.
"I found my mate and then I lost her. I was standing in the bistro waiting to get coffee and she was just there, but I couldn't see her. Its exactly how you described it Dom, her scent was overwhelming and I could smell Chamomile, Bergamot and Honey and I just knew. But as I looked around her scent started to fade and then she was just gone, she did leave that behind though." I pointed to the purse on the couch.
"Wait so she just left? She would have smelled you too though, we're programmed to search each other out though, its in our dna. Are you sure it was her?" I nodded at him. "Well did you look through the purse for ID?
"Not yet, I just ran out the door to look for her and I kept looking till I had to come here and then I didn't have time before the meeting" I walked over and opened the purse but the only thing in it were papers and some food. I pulled them out and was looking them over when I looked up at Dominick: Lilly Harper! I felt a sense of relief knowing that I at least had her name: Looks like she just graduated from Pratt University with a Bachelors degree in Architecture. What are the chances of that brother? I researched her portfolio and her resume and found myself feeling impressed by her accomplishments and proud of my new mate. My only hope now would be to find her.
"The Moon Goddess always has a plan, you know that" Dominick said as he looked past me with his eyes narrowed for a moment in thought: Lilly Harper? That sounds familiar, where have I heard that name before. Maybe she applied here, lets call HR and see.
There was no Lilly Harper in the applications which was odd because Sinclair Corp was the best in the business at least around this side of the states so anyone with half a chance would apply here and looking at her portfolio and resume she would have been a top candidate for us to hire. I at least had her name and number now which meant I could figure out what pack she is in.
It was now around 2:30 and I still hadn't had coffee or food so I was starving and sporting a massive migraine. I decided I would go back to the bistro to get the food and coffee I'd been craving all day.
