Leo's POV
Sitting in front of her looking into her eyes I could see why she had left earlier today, she's human. Mate! Mine! "Dude I get that you want her now, so do I but she is human and if we fuck it up we wont get a second chance so let me handle this" She probably doesn't even know whats going on but she is clearly effected by our mate bond because she looks like a school girl drooling over her first crush the way she is staring at me, my wolf was excited but he was trying not to show it which I appreciated, it was hard enough to control my own impulses let alone his. I felt mesmerized by her big brown eyes they were dark with rings of copper or maybe caramel depending on the light. Her hair was red long and curly and she looked wild. Her skin was creamy and flawless and her lips were rosy and perfect with a little pout to them that made me want to reach out and touch them. But I refrained as to not scare her off. I asked her about the companies she was applying for, I wanted her to work for me so that she was always near and I could protect her.
She whispered: GTI. It was like she was knocked out of a trance because right after she said that her face seemed to wake and she blinked a few times before almost shouting: Your brothers an asshole!
"What?" I growled but didnt mean to, I could tell it frightened her and she jumped up to leave telling me to forget what she had said as I tried to grab her wrist but she was fairly fast and got away. I was too stunned to even do anything, she ran out the door and I let her go. How could I possibly forget what she said, clearly shes met my brother. I swear to god if it was in any other way besides professional I will lose my fucking mind, and if he causes me to lose my mate, well than too much responsibility or not I will abdicate and he will have to deal with it on his own.
I pulled myself together and forced myself to my feet. I no longer had an apatite but ordered food and coffee, if nothing else to get rid of the migraine that had ceased momentarily in her presence but had now returned. I needed to think clearly if I was going to kick my brothers ass, I choked down the food and left with the coffee. I drove back to the pack house and mind linked my brother to come to my office. I pulled up to the front of the house and was out of my vehicle before I even put it in park, the vehicle rolling to a stop behind me as I walked, exuding so much anger that the security guard dropped to his knee as I walked through the door. I couldn't acknowledged him now or my anger might be misplaced. I paced in my office, I sat, I stood and then paced again. I felt like my insides were burning and itching and there was no comfort to be had, my wolf was angry with me as we paced waiting for Dom. The second the door opened my hands were around his neck and he was at least 4 inches off the ground: MINE! My wolf growled through me, Dom looked thoroughly confused: Did you fuck my… my Lilly!
"What?" He managed to squeeze out, his face red and his eyes bulging now as he tapped my hand as if we were kinds in the ring. I complied though, he is my brother and I didn't really want to hurt him. He fell to his knee coughing before repeating himself: What?
"Lilly, we spoke and she said you were an asshole. Is she one of the many woman you fucked and then never talked to again? I said loudly not caring who heard.
He raised his hands at me to quiet me down and his whole face squinted as he said: No, no it couldnt be. Then his face relaxed and his eyes widened slightly as he raised his brows: OOOOH
"WHAT!" I yelled at the anticipation of knowing what he realized while partially not wanting to know.
"No I remember now, Lilly Harper was that girl I told you about ya know her drunk friend was all over me and Anna and I havent been together long so Anna stormed off all jealous and then Lilly's friend pulled me away thankfully but I was already pissed and yeah I was kind of an asshole to her. Technically twice because the next day or so I saw her at the coffee shop and thought she followed me so I glared at her. Is that also why she left instead of meeting you this morning?" As he spoke I felt my entire body deflate in relief and exhaustion and I let out a huge sigh and fell into my chair.
"Well so you're the reason she didn't apply at Sinclair Corp. Instead she applied for GTI and no doubt got the job, based off her portfolio I would have hired her. Now what?" I looked up at him feeling angry but I needed his advice now more then ever.
"Well now we get her to work for us instead GTI" He looked at me apologetically
"She didn't leave this morning because of you by the way. She left because she is human and doesn't know whats happening to her, I can see she feels the mate bond but I'll still have to woo her like a human. I want you to go talk to Greg our morning security guard, his mate was human so maybe he can give me some advice, let him know the situation and for him to report to me when he can" I poured a glass of whiskey hoping that would calm my nerves.
"So at the risk of pissing you off can I just say {Did you fuck my Lilly} may not be the best way to say that." I looked up at him shocked but so utterly exhausted that I just started laughing hysterically and so did Dom.
