Chapter 59 - Chapter 59

Earth, Zhang Zheng's Home

Zhang Zheng was trying to forget what happened last night. He really didn't want to think about how he'd ended up with the angel girl and the implications of it.

Narrative

Last night, after the final discussion with Angel Yan, Zhang Zheng felt like he'd lost a lot. At least, that was his impression. When Angel Yan drew her Flaming Sword, Zhang Zheng instinctively used his mental power to immobilize her.

As a result, Angel Yan had been trying to break free from his mental grip all night, using dark energy to counteract it. This clash of forces had wreaked havoc on the furniture in Zhang Zheng's home. If Zhang Zheng hadn't acted quickly to isolate the living room space, Angel Chui and Angel Mo Yi might have been dragged into the chaos.

"Have you calmed down, Miss Yan?" Zhang Zheng looked at the exhausted Angel Yan and said with some resignation. The living room was in shambles, and Zhang Zheng felt like crying.

The destructive power of angels was far more formidable than he had imagined. Angel Yan had been relentless all night, and her continuous rampage had left Zhang Zheng's living room nearly destroyed.

"Alright, kid, you can let me out now. I don't want to fight anymore."

That night, Angel Yan gained a firsthand understanding of Zhang Zheng's strength. Even though she had many powers at her disposal, including the missing Divine Blade No. 7, she realized that Zhang Zheng's power was far from his full capacity.

Zhang Zheng removed the mental barrier and released Angel Yan.

"Kid, I acknowledge your strength, but you only have two options." Angel Yan, despite recognizing Zhang Zheng's power, couldn't offer him a third option due to her pride.

"I have Zhixin. Regardless of which option you choose, Zhixin will definitely be hurt. As a good sister, can you bear that?" Zhang Zheng now had a preliminary understanding of the stubbornness of the angels. They were extremely obstinate and unyielding.

"Kid, you know too little about the universe. And you know even less about angels. Regardless of the outcome, Zhixin won't be troubled. There is no such thing as monogamy in the universe, and there isn't among angels either. Furthermore, once Zhixin becomes your guardian angel, she will only wield her sword for you, without hesitation, even if the opponent is an angel. That's what a guardian angel does."

"Therefore, kid, don't compare the universe and angels with your Earth," Angel Yan said, her fists unconsciously clenching, her face showing a reverent expression. Angelic love is pure, beautiful, and eternal.

Zhang Zheng didn't expect Angel Yan to say such things, and the atmosphere fell into silence. He believed that Zhixin would fight for him, but that wasn't what Zhang Zheng wanted. He knew that if it came to that, every strike Zhixin made would cause her emotional pain.

"Alright, kid. Maybe it's not as bad as you think. Maybe Queen Kaisa will give you a third option," Angel Yan said, trying to reassure Zhang Zheng with words she herself didn't fully believe.

Zhang Zheng knew from the original story and his own interactions that Kaisa wouldn't offer him a third choice. If it didn't involve justice and order, Kaisa was essentially a senior rogue. But when it came to principles, Kaisa's resolve was unwavering, even in the face of death.

"Moyi and Ah Chui are coming out soon. Are you sure you want them to know about what happened last night?" Angel Yan, seeing Zhang Zheng's silence, decided to change the topic.

"Alright. I'll clean up the room," Zhang Zheng replied. He looked at his wrecked living room and, with a flash of green light, restored it to its previous state. This was likely a result of his recent research on the Infinity Gauntlet, or more precisely, the Sentinel power.

Sentinels could absorb any type of energy, and the energy emitted by the Infinity Stones was within their range. Because of prolonged contact with the Infinity Gauntlet, Zhang Zheng had absorbed some of its energy, allowing him to use the power of time without needing to wear the Gauntlet.

Angel Yan stared in shock at the restored living room. The power of time was beyond the reach of angels; it was something beyond technological explanation.

"You… you can use the power of time?" Angel Yan stuttered in disbelief.

"Just a simple application. It's not a big deal," Zhang Zheng said modestly. However, his proud expression betrayed his true feelings.

Seeing Zhang Zheng's smug face, Angel Yan was tempted to slap him to wipe that smirk off his face. His arrogance was infuriating.

"I'll report this to Queen Kaisa as well. That might increase the chances of me becoming your guardian angel," Angel Yan said with a flirtatious glance.

Zhang Zheng didn't have much to say in response. With the conversation at this point, there was little he could do. Zhang Zheng had thought things over. While he hadn't planned for a harem, it didn't mean he couldn't have one. If Kaisa allowed Angel Yan to be his guardian angel, Zhang Zheng would gladly accept. After all, Angel Yan's appearance and figure were top-notch, as proven last night.

If Kaisa disagreed and insisted on a confrontation, Zhang Zheng felt he could handle it, or at worst, avoid her for a few days. He could then return after dealing with Morgana and Karl, which would hopefully prevent Zhixin from holding any grudge and avoid further trouble with Kaisa.

"Mm-hmm," Zhang Zheng nodded repeatedly, a lewd expression on his face.

Angel Yan watched Zhang Zheng's reaction, her face twitching in frustration. He no longer resembled a god but rather a loser, and she regretted giving him two choices. She felt it would have been better to tell Kaisa how Zhang Zheng had violated her, leading to an intervention from the queen's forces.

As Angel Yan fantasized about various ways Zhang Zheng could be punished and Zhang Zheng imagined a blissful future with his harem, an untimely voice interrupted.

"Good morning, Yan Jie, God," Angel Mo Yi emerged from the room and greeted Zhang Zheng and Angel Yan.

"Good morning, Mo Yi," Zhang Zheng greeted with a smile, showing his good mood.

"Good morning, Mo Yi," Angel Yan responded politely, giving Zhang Zheng a meaningful look.

In the past, Zhang Zheng would have avoided Angel Yan's gaze, but now, with the mental shackles lifted, he smiled back at her, giving her a big grin.

Angel Mo Yi observed the odd interaction between the two and was momentarily stunned.

What exactly happened last night? Angel Mo Yi wondered.
