Earth, Zhang Zheng's Home.
Since Angel Zhin Xin had mentioned she would arrive on Earth today, Zhang Zheng had been preparing diligently at home.
He had used the power of the Infinity Stones to transform everything in his room into something new. Early in the morning, Zhang Zheng went to the market to buy various ingredients, having promised to prepare a grand meal for Zhin Xin.
After a morning of bustling activity, Zhang Zheng had prepared an entire table of delicious dishes. A green glow shimmered on the table, the power of time ensuring that each dish remained perfect and unchanged despite the passage of time.
The Infinity Stones seemed almost in tears from the effort, but Zhang Zheng was ready, waiting for Zhin Xin's arrival. His mind was attuned to the Angels' presence at the galactic portal, as he had promised Zhin Xin he would be the first to greet her upon her arrival.
As the afternoon approached, Zhang Zheng experienced the sensation of time dragging on, a feeling he had never quite felt before. Although he had missed Zhin Xin in the past, today was different.
"Hm."
Sitting on the sofa, Zhang Zheng suddenly smiled. With the Infinity Gauntlet appearing on his hand and a flash of blue light, a portal materialized in front of him. He stepped through it.
"Zhang Zheng."
Angel Zhin Xin emerged from the portal and immediately spotted Zhang Zheng, rushing towards him with an excited shout and quickly folding her wings.
"Zhin Xin."
Seeing Zhin Xin, Zhang Zheng took a few steps forward and embraced her warmly.
"I missed you, Zhang Zheng," Zhin Xin murmured, resting her head on Zhang Zheng's chest, her face flushed.
Looking at Zhin Xin's beautiful face, Zhang Zheng couldn't help but kiss her lightly, saying, "I missed you too, Zhin Xin."
"I say, you two have had enough."
"Can't you see there are others here?"
Angel Leng, watching the affectionate display, was clearly annoyed. Ever since their meeting, Zhang Zheng and Zhin Xin had been so engrossed in each other that they seemed to ignore Angel Leng and Angel Ling Xi completely.
"Leng, what are you doing here?"
"And who is this angelic beauty?"
Zhang Zheng, finally snapping out of his reverie, looked at Angel Leng and the unfamiliar Angel Ling Xi.
Angel Leng's eye twitched at Zhang Zheng's question. At that moment, she really wanted to give him a sword. It was clear that both she and Angel Ling Xi were quite annoyed by the situation.
"Zhin Xin, who is this lady?"
Zhang Zheng asked quietly, leaning towards Zhin Xin.
Given that Angel Ling Xi wasn't a key character in the animation, Zhang Zheng had trouble recognizing her.
"This is Angel Ling Xi. You would have met her in Angel City."
"She and Leng are my direct subordinates, similar to Mo Yi, A Chui, and Yen Jie's relationship."
Zhin Xin quietly explained to Zhang Zheng.
Zhang Zheng was surprised that the aloof Angel Leng was Zhin Xin's subordinate but understood it better when he recalled their positions in the original work. Indeed, Angel Leng had stood behind Zhin Xin in that scene.
To Angel Leng, Zhang Zheng and Zhin Xin's whispered conversation felt like they were once again whispering sweet nothings in front of her.
It was infuriating; she was the oldest among the guardian angels, even older than Angel Yen by two hundred years, and yet these two were so engrossed in each other.
Angel Ling Xi, however, had no such negative feelings. She admired Zhin Xin and felt more envious than anything else.
Seeing the annoyed Angel Leng and the blushing Angel Ling Xi, Zhang Zheng felt a bit awkward. He had wanted to enjoy some private time with Zhin Xin, and now there were two additional guardian angels present.
"Alright, Zhin Xin, everything is ready at home."
"Let's go, I'll take you there."
Despite his reluctance, Zhang Zheng had to accept the situation. He activated the portal and gestured for Zhin Xin to follow.
Angel Leng, who had no qualms about interrupting Zhang Zheng's private moment, made no apologies and went through the portal with a huff.
Angel Ling Xi, more considerate, nodded at Zhang Zheng before following.
With the two "intruders" gone, Zhang Zheng gently pulled Zhin Xin closer, lightly nibbling her delicate ear, and asked, "Why did they come along?"
"I thought it would be just you this time."
Zhin Xin looked puzzled at Zhang Zheng's question and said, "Leng and Ling Xi are my guardian angels, so they should come with me."
Seeing Zhin Xin's nonchalant attitude, Zhang Zheng could only smile wryly.
"She still doesn't get the main point!" Zhang Zheng sighed.
"Let's go."
Zhang Zheng, resigned, led Zhin Xin through the portal.
At Zhang Zheng's Home.
As Angel Leng and Ling Xi exited the portal, Zhang Zheng and Zhin Xin still hadn't emerged.
Angel Leng, without much sympathy for Zhin Xin's subordinate status, looked at the table full of dishes that remained untouched due to a mysterious force.
"What kind of technology is this?"
Angel Ling Xi, noticing the peculiar situation, asked Angel Leng out of curiosity.
"How would I know? If Zhin Xin were here, she'd probably understand."
"After all, she's the expert in research."
Angel Leng, being a warrior rather than a researcher, was at a loss. She was no match for Angel Yen in that regard.
Sighing in resignation, Angel Leng and Angel Ling Xi waited. With a table full of food they couldn't eat and no sign of their hosts, they felt helpless.
As Zhang Zheng and Zhin Xin finally reappeared, Angel Leng approached them with a teasing smile.
"Why did you two take so long? Were you up to something you shouldn't have been?"
Coughing and almost choking on his own saliva, Zhang Zheng was caught off guard by Angel Leng's remark. It was a bit too much for him to handle.
Angel Leng was satisfied with Zhang Zheng's reaction but was slightly frustrated by Zhin Xin's innocent demeanor. Zhin Xin didn't seem to understand the insinuation at all, only appearing curious about what "improper activities" meant.
Angel Leng was defeated by Zhin Xin's naivety. "You're married and still so innocent? Is that really okay?"
Zhang Zheng, seeing Angel Leng's awkwardness and Zhin Xin's innocent reaction, couldn't help but chuckle, which made Angel Ling Xi smile too.
In the end, Angel Leng and Zhin Xin were left feeling puzzled, while Zhang Zheng and Angel Ling Xi shared a lighter moment.
