Inside the emergency room, a crowd had formed, consisting of both men and women, divided between family members and friends on one side and doctors and nurses on the other. After listening for a short while, Luo Yang quickly understood that a patient needed his leg amputated due to a blood clot.
The situation was indeed serious, emotions understandably running high.
The male patient, in his forties, sat on the bed, very agitated, waving his hands as if ready to kill someone. He ranted and raved, but couldn't get out of bed.
The male doctor said helplessly, "If you had brought him in sooner, it wouldn't have come to this. He played Mahjong for seven whole days until his legs couldn't move before realizing the severity of the situation. Not even an 'Immortal' could save him now. The blood clot can't be cleared; if we don't amputate the leg, he'll be in life-threatening danger."
The male patient bellowed, "I don't want my leg sawed off. If you don't cure me, I'll have your legs sawed off!"
A group of young men surrounded the doctors and nurses, not letting them leave.
"Let me take a look."
At that moment, the voice of a youth came from the doorway—naturally, it was Luo Yang.
Everyone turned their heads to see a young man and didn't take him seriously. The noise resumed, the atmosphere extremely tense with spit flying and voices shaking the air.
"If the patient wants to keep his leg, let me check right now!"
Luo Yang raised his voice, loud and resounding.
The male doctor, mistaking Luo Yang for a relative or friend of the male patient, believed he had come to mock and make things difficult, his face red with frustration, "If you're capable, then you treat him!"
Luo Yang immediately walked over to the male patient.
The male patient, not recognizing Luo Yang and seeing that he was a youth, suddenly became wary, "What are you doing?! Get out!"
Upon hearing this, everyone present froze, the twenty or thirty people suddenly silent to the utmost degree.
Only then did the medical staff realize that Luo Yang was not a relative or friend of the male patient, and a nurse came over to persuade him, "Kid, this place is already headache-inducing enough. Please don't add to the trouble. Leave quickly."
Several menacing-looking young men then approached Luo Yang, surrounding him and not allowing him to leave. They were ready to hit him.
"If you don't let me save him now, either he will die or he will have to have his leg amputated! Do you hear me clearly!" Luo Yang shouted loudly.
"Who the hell are you?" the male patient had to ask.
"I'm a Barefoot Doctor. For your situation, I have a way to cure you," Luo Yang replied.
The emergency room fell silent once again, so quiet it was almost uncomfortable.
After a while, the male patient anxiously asked, "Doctor! Are my legs really beyond saving?!"
The male doctor responded promptly, "Anyway, I don't have a solution."
The male patient glared, his face full of murderous intent, then suddenly looked toward Luo Yang and said, "Fine! Come and treat me quickly! If you cure me, I will reward you handsomely!"
The group of young men surrounding Luo Yang stepped aside, and Luo Yang walked to the bedside, took out Silver Needle, and performed acupuncture on the male patient.
The emergency room was utterly silent; Suhong and Hong Jiaxin held their breath for Luo Yang, both pressing their reddened lips together, each praying in their minds, "I hope he's not lying. Dear God, please help him."
About 10 minutes later, Luo Yang removed the Silver Needle and said, "That should do it. However, don't engage in any strenuous activities over the next two days and make sure to walk around a lot."
Before the male patient even attempted to move his legs, everyone in the room widened their eyes and craned their necks, skeptical.
The male patient first gently bent his legs, then got off the bed and took several steps!
At that point, the emergency room erupted in cheers, the family and friends, medical staff, Suyun, and Hong Jiaxin all dancing with excitement.
The mood suddenly became harmonious.
The male patient gave Luo Yang a big bear hug, overcome with emotion, "My savior! You gave me back my life. Whatever you want, just tell me. Anything I can give, I will give to you!"
Though his words were generous, they sounded somewhat like he meant, "If you dare ask me for a reward, I'll take you down," due to the rough and somewhat Jianghu-flavored tone.
"I'm glad you're alright. I don't want anything," Luo Yang politely declined.
"No! You must tell me what you want. I won't feel at ease if I don't repay you. Speak!" the male patient pressed.
At that moment, a familiar ringtone filled the emergency room.
"only you, can take me on the Journey to the West..."
Luo Yang quickly took out his phone; it was a call from Xiao Daniu, so he immediately answered. As he spoke on the phone, everyone else fell silent, respectfully standing aside, letting him talk.
"Hello, Shui Niu, what's up?" Luo Yang asked.
"Niu Zai, it's bad! Xie Dongyang is here! He's at the school gate, Yu Yong's got him blocked outside, he hasn't come in yet!" Xiao Daniu said anxiously.
"Alright! I'm heading back to take care of him!" Luo Yang felt a surge of rage within him.
While he spoke on the phone, he attempted to leave the emergency room.
No one dared to block his path, except the male patient who stepped in front of him and said, "Young man, I hear you're in big trouble. Tell me, and I'll help you settle it."
Luo Yang hung up and said, "Thanks, but you can't help."
