On Friday night, only the students from ninth and twelfth grades had to attend evening study sessions, while students from other grades mostly went home.
The ninth and twelfth graders also had classes on Saturday and only had Sunday off.
"Hey! Come over here!"
Browsing his phone with his head down, Luo Yang suddenly heard a sharp shout.
He turned his head in the direction of the shout and saw Big-head Xin and his gang not far away. They looked vicious and clearly intended to beat someone up. Yet, Luo Yang was quite calm.
As Big-head Xin gestured for him to come over and walked towards him, his reluctant demeanor made it clear that he was out for revenge. Having been beaten up at noon, he couldn't swallow his pride. Single combat hadn't worked, so surrounding and attacking was his strategy.
When they reached Luo Yang, several male students immediately encircled him.
"Let's talk at the new sports field!" Big-head Xin glared and said.
With a teacher watching nearby, it wasn't convenient for them to start a fight. Once outside the school, they could brawl without restraint.
"Asking for a beating? I'm in it to the end," Luo Yang replied with a smile.
As the group left the school through the back gate and saw people playing basketball at the new sports field, they went straight to the hillside next to it. It was a perfect place for a fight.
Standing on higher ground, basked in the soft sunset and caressed by the gentle breeze, it was a great time for physical exercise.
Facing Big-head Xin, Luo Yang felt like laughing.
In front of a tiger, even if there were a few more sheep, it was still a death sentence.
Even without True Qi, he would not be afraid of facing Big-head Xin and his gang. With True Qi, he felt absolutely domineering.
The guys surrounded Luo Yang in the middle, and Big-head Xin, wanting to challenge Luo Yang again, threw a punch, trying to intimidate him.
Luo Yang shifted half a step to the left, assumed a horse-riding stance, and smashed his fists into Big-head Xin's chest, knocking him down.
The other accomplices, seeing Luo Yang knock Big-head Xin down with a single move, were scared and hesitated to make a move.
In a situation where there were several opponents, all it took was to beat their leader severely to deter the rest.
This was an experience Luo Yang had gleaned from countless fights. It never failed to work.
Having gained the upper hand with the first move, Luo Yang pressed his advantage; pivoting on his left foot, he swung around and landed a right hook on a tall, gaunt boy next to him, making his nose bleed profusely.
The remaining three boys were already intimidated, retreated hastily, and looked panic-stricken. They had not expected Luo Yang to be so fierce.
"Trying to act tough, huh?"
Luo Yang grabbed Big-head Xin by the collar, lifted him up, and then furiously punched his temple.
Watching Big-head Xin getting punched, the other three did not dare to intervene.
At this point, the students at the basketball court noticed the fight on the hillside and all turned to look.
Suddenly, two shirtless boys broke from the crowd and ran up the hill.
"Niu Zai, I'm on my way!"
Xiao Daniu shouted excitedly, charging like a wild buffalo, prepared for a prolonged battle.
The other shirtless boy was Luo Yang's classmate from the eighth grade, surnamed Dai, first name Baojian, nicknamed Da Baojian. His hair could never do without hair gel and mousse, shiny enough to reflect light. He lived more for his hairstyle than anything else.
Seeing Luo Yang's reinforcements arrive, Big-head Xin turned pale with fright, shouting and scrambling down the other side of the hill as fast as he could. His bravado gone, his courage faltered, and he ran as fast as possible.
By the time Xiao Daniu reached the hill, Big-head Xin's group had already beat a hasty retreat.
"Where are they?"
Xiao Daniu was very disappointed, stamping his feet. Seeing Big-head Xin tumble and roll down the hill, he wanted to give chase.
"Don't waste your time—you won't catch him," Luo Yang said.
"Too damn fast! I got all excited for nothing! I haven't been in a fight for so long!" Xiao Daniu lamented.
"If I had known you guys were playing basketball here, I would have called you," Luo Yang said with a chuckle.
In the past, Luo Yang and Xiao Daniu usually played basketball on the old sports field.
Having finished urinating on the hillside, Dai Baojian came over and said, "Niu Zai, let's go play."
"Treating me to Da Baojian?"
"Seeing me and expecting a Da Baojian, aren't you a bit too greedy? Let's go to the internet café."
Upon hearing they were heading to the internet café, Xiao Daniu raised both hands in favor.
Luo Yang hesitated, but Xiao Daniu wrapped an arm around his shoulder and forcefully pulled him towards the bike shed.
Just as the three of them reached the bike shed, they saw Suyun approaching from afar, seemingly also to fetch her bike. Her graceful stride, elegant figure, and flowing hair on the school path sparked endless imagination.
By then, it was almost six-thirty in the evening.
They had evening study sessions after seven o'clock, with only half an hour of free time.
"Luo Yang, Xiao Daniu, are you heading home now? Will you make it on time?" Suyun called out curiously before she got close.
"We'll make it!" Xiao Daniu responded loudly.
Luo Yang just smiled in silence.
"Luo Yang, you're not really going home, are you? You're going out to play, right?" Suyun said pointedly.
As she approached, her beautiful features, fair skin, perfectly proportioned body, and the curvaceous silhouette, combined with the orchid-like fragrance wafting from her, were breathtaking.
Luo Yang thought to himself that her nickname, Gao Yuanyuan, was indeed well-deserved.
