The crime scene hadn't been secured yet—as it had just occurred—so many staff members were wandering the halls of the mansion. When they saw the dead guard, they were horrified.
It wasn't easy for anyone to see a person killed in that way. Even I felt a bit uneasy while I was there.
"You can stay here and examine the crime scene," one of the guards said to me. "We're going to conduct a search for any information."
I just nodded. After that, the guards left the kitchen and locked it, leaving me alone with the guard's body.
The first thing I did was activate Sharp Focus. It was a beneficial skill that didn't tire me out too much, so I could use it for extended periods.
I could see things with greater clarity, but even so, I couldn't find any clues. It was as if the killer were a professional.
And the knife embedded in the guard's body wasn't the same one we were looking for. Now two kitchen knives were missing!
