Lisa's POV
He had a frown on his face as he approached me. The same look he had when I saw him at the bar, totally distant and self aloof.
I took note of his attire just like I had done last night. He wasn't wearing his glasses this time, and I could see a scar drawing from the bottom of his eyes up to his eyebrow.
Still dressed in shorts, this time a lot longer than the one from the previous night, his chest tucked neatly in a loose T-shirt, I imagined the man from last night, then compared him to the man before me, I still had a similar dread reaction, the one where my palm was sweaty and my heart happened to beat very fast.
But this time, I could see more of his features, his eye was dark blue, so far the darkest shades of blue I had seen in a while but the other eye with the scar was gray. It looked like a case of heterochromia. It was beautiful
I would confuse him for a pirate if I was drunk… silly me.
"Miss Lisa, nice meeting you"
'Rip off, he wants to pretend like he doesn't know me at all!'
Yesterday he blandly told me to fuck off, now it was nice meeting me?
"Nice meeting you mister Ivar". He took his hands, it totally engulfed mine
Yesterday I had seen him in the bar and it was so damn brief, I didn't get to take him all in, I had no idea if it was because of the rings in his hands or his aura in general but my hand felt unusually cold when he touched me, it felt as though I had touched a metal pole.
"So this is the house as you can see, come let me show you around"
He didn't wait for a response, just continued to walk towards the house. I followed behind like a cautious dog, watching his every step till he finally approached the balcony.
"Well, look at it, this is nice and long, your kids would love it"
He opened the front door, then began to show me all around, barely explaining in more than three sentences. Compared to the last two agents who had shown me around, this man before me was nothing like them, he simply stated its use and uniqueness and that was all.
So nonchalant.
If I had to leave a star for his hospitality it would be a one star, and what was because he wasn't cussing at me this time around.
But aside from all his acts the house was amazing. The range was enough to make a garden for my children, it was the largest space I have seen in a while.
"Fine, it does need some adjustment, but it's better than nothing" I said, while trying to have a good conversation, but he nodded then walked out, why was it so hard with him.
Focus, he's not your problem…
I walked out of the house, right behind him, he reached out for his car then brought out a card.
"Meet me at that location and we can finalize the agreement and payments"
'The Ned NoMad' I knew that place.
"Fine, see you by 9am, is that fine"
"I won't be chanced, it would be best you come out same at least 9 in the evening, the reason is because we are on holiday and it's a total inconvenience having to attend to you"
"Don't you have an assistant or something maybe virtual worker, I don't want to come out by that time"
"Well my assistant swallowed a shovel, and his grandmother just committed suicide, he won't be available till the next comet, would you be able to wait" he said all this with a smile on his lips. I was speechless.
I stared at the card, then back at him, then the card again. Who is this man!
"I would take that as a yes, see you by 9pm" with that he tapped my shoulders then turned to leave.
I watched his car drive out, while I was left with a damn address to a private club, and in the middle of the road.
"Jerk!"
'He can't hear you, you should have said it when he was standing before you,' there goes my thought.
I sighed then went back to the car, ignited the engine then drove off.
The kids were back at home having dinner when I entered.
"Good day ma" Steph said as she waved at me, she was putting most of their clothes in place when I entered their room.
"Mummy!"
"Mummy!, I missed you so much"
The children slammed their body on mine which kept me trapped in a spot.
"How are you doing,"
"Mum, Maisy said she liked a boy today, she said she wanted to marry a boy she just met "
Stunned. I stared at their babysitter, she had a pitiful look on her face, she knew I was about to defend my sanity once more, I could already tell that they had tormented her while I was away, and they had obviously won the battle.
"Oh really!," I exclaimed.
"Yes!, she says she's in love with him and she wants to get him, and she would tell you when you get back so we could find him and tell him to come play with us"
I stared at Maisy who now looked guilty, it was the first time she was quiet.
"Maisy is that true"
She nodded in agreement.
"He smiled at me, and we rode the horse together" she defended herself innocently.
"But that's not enough to like a boy is it?"
"Mom, I told her, she shouldn't like him but she kept on saying she's going to marry him"
I sighed.
"Stop it" maisy smacked her twin sister.
Oh no…!
I stood between them before they would engage in a fist fight.
"No she started it"
"No!, don't fight your sister!"
I carried Daisy up, she had started crying, as she didn't get the opportunity to smack her sister back, and Daisy had begun to cry as well .
I already had a long day, so the last thing I wanted was a fight between this minions.
I placed them in a separate room for thirty minutes while I sat in the living room.
"Here" steph said as she handed me a cup of juice.
"His name is Frederick, a sweet boy, and I think he likes daisy"
"What?"
She smirked before sipping her juice, "they played in the pool together, but he wanted to be close to daisy all the time, he even gave her his rubber duck,"
"Does she know that?"
She waved her head, "she smacked him because he splashed water on Maisy,"
Now that's really messed up, "Maisy liked him, a lot more, she cried when his father came to pick him up"
I felt sad for both of them, "very hot man," she added dreamily.
I left them for about three hours and everyone already found a match, it seemed like they were all visited by Cupid and his little love arrows.
"You should have seen him!He was so big, and tall, and he had this smile that could weaken one in the knees. I couldn't stop looking at him, but he barely gave me a glance, he just called his son out of the pool, then dried him up then left. I think he's a single dad"
"Oh really,"
"Yes" she sighed.
"It's hard to see hot men this days"
The conversation was short lived when my alarm rang, thirty minutes had elapsed which meant it was time to bring the children out and make them confess how much they loved each other.
I brought them out, made them stay a feet apart. While they recited a love poem.
'I love you, you love me, we are a happy family…'
It ended with a hug and they both cried in each other's arms. I promised to find them a playmate as soon as we got into our new homes and they agreed, and just like magic they were back to playing games.
Motherhood has its complications, but we hang on tight don't we?
I spent the rest of the day checking out the progress of my enemies.
Samantha and Damian had a boy a year into their relationship, they named him Henry, and oh boy this was going to be so messy.
Does Damian know who the real Henry really was?
I bet he doesn't, but I wasn't going to tell him, I was going to let him suffer his ignorance while I went ahead to torment samantha.
I took the liberty to alert her that her secret wasn't safe with me, so I called the delivery service to send flowers to her doorstep back in the Sinclair mansion.
With a text boldly written on it.
'Knock knock
Who's there!
It's me, your darkest secret'
You see how I do things? Very demure… grins in ages of anger and revenge.
