Chapter 20 - Uproar

"Give it up Druid. Your warriors are no match for my companions." Celeste said as she strangles the Dark Druid tightly with vines to a tree.

The Dark Druid struggles with effort to free itself from the vines but it finally gave up seeing that the vines wouldn't even budge.

"Maybe you are right Nymph, what was I thinking going against Olympians." The Dark Druid said as it slumps it's head downwards regretfully.

"Your game is up. It is about time you also gave up the ghost." Christine said as she walks towards the Druid with the intention of ripping it's head off it's body.

"Uh! Who said anything about playing a game." The dark Druid asks confused, "All I want is the Chosen Blood but it seems like I failed woefully in getting what I want." The Druid sighs in defeat.

"Don't you get it? There is no way you are getting your filthy hands on him when you are literally stuck to a tree with you life hanging in balance." Christiana mocks with a mirthful smile.

"Nice of you to predict my death, Fate. You might as well predict it but you can't cause it." The Druid said causing Celeste to narrow her gaze while wondering what it words meant. "Either way, I am getting the Chosen Blood but I guess it won't be today. Another day then. For now, your doom is surely near."

Immediately the Druid finished speaking, the ground trembled violently as though an earthquake is about to occur while a gust of wind swept across the forest threatening to uproot even the deepest of all rooted trees.

"Mark my words Olympians, this isn't over. It is barely beginning." The hysterical laughter of the Druid resounded across the forest before fading away gradually as the Dark Druid disappears.

During the tremors, the seductive four had their arms over their face as they tried to see through the heavy wind, hence, they weren't able to stop the Dark Druid before it made it's escape as they were distracted.

However, few moments after the devastating storm, the forest was cleared with the aftermath of the storm being the army of snarling chimaeras which bared their teeths at the seductive four.

"Looks like it was serious when it spoke about our doom." Christine grumbles under her breath as she stares at the snarling creatures around them.

The four soon resumed their defensive stances with their backs against one another while they readied themselves to engage the moment any of the creatures move.

They didn't think twice as the spring into action the moment the chimaeras bared their teeth while advancing towards them as each of them fought against an handful of the underworld creatures.

In the meantime, back at Celestial Falls High School, Jake and Quincy could be seen changing in the men's locker room as they prepared to hit the gym.

"Tell me something Quincy, if you are the ones those Dark Druids are after then why would they kidnap and murder a bunch of innocent people?" Jake asks as he puts on his jersey.

"I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with then fueling their powers. Celeste did made mention of them using humans as sacrifice so as to channel the dark sorcery they possess." Quincy said while closing his locker to lean against it.

"But it still doesn't make sense. If truly they belong to a coven and have several members, then of what benefit is the need to use humans as power source when they are literally stronger in numbers." Jake quips while pondering.

"Who cares about their coven anyways? I am much more concern for the loss of innocent lives they tend to involve in their quest for power. Tell me, what about the culprit that turned himself in? Has he said anything useful?"

"Nothing yet. He still refuses to talk as he kept on saying that he knows nothing about the massacres." Jake said while shaking his head.

Quincy groans,"Not even about where they might be buried or even a clue about finding the real perpetrator?"

"Nah. He didn't utter a word." Jake said as he proceeds out of the locker room. "Come on, let's move fast or coach would have our heads as balls if we arrive late." Jake urges while taking quickened strides towards the direction of the gym with Quincy trailing behind him.

"Okay, gather up! Today's training would be different as you would be grouped into a several teams. Each team would have a maximum of five players." The coach instructed as the players gathered around him.

"As you all are aware, the game is tomorrow night so we have to practice twice as hard so that we would come out on top. Quills, you are off the bench for today and you will be playing with Whittemore, Neal, Stallione and Carson." The coach said grouping Quincy with some players.

"Riley, you would be playing with McCallum, McCarthy, McCall and Nelson. Now get you asses on the court!" The coach shouted while the players ran to the court with the exception of Riley.

"Coach, why does Quincy have to get the best players while I get stuck with none?" Riley asks as he approaches the coach.

"That's because you are the team captain so you naturally get stuck with the rookies. Also, you tend to get the best when you groom the worst." The coach answers with an encouraging smile, "Now get you ass on the court Riley!"

Riley grunted but he didn't say any more words as he jogs to the court. Taking his position, he cast Quincy a glaring look which the latter ignored as he moves towards the coach. The coach threw the ball and blew the whistle causing the two team to spring into action.

The crowd was screaming with excitement as they watched Riley makes his way to Quincy's basket with the ball. Taking his stance, he was about to throw the ball when it suddenly got snatched from his hand by Jake who passed it to Quincy.

They soon began to move towards Riley's basket with the occasional passing and tossing until Quincy threw the ball in from a distance. He was blocked by three of Riley's teammates and seeing that there was no way he could pass through, Quincy made the decision of throwing the ball from the centre of the court.

Much to the amazement of the bustling crowd, they watched the ball moving until it bounced off the board before entering the net. Thus sending the crowd into an uproar.
