Chapter 3
He stared at the ceiling long enough to know the total number of nails used in the roofing. He was strategizing how to approach his father and change his perception of the lady he walked in with. Had he known his father would be at his house, he would have taken her to a different location, maybe his friend's house. He went to the fridge to get some drinks, he turned and was startled by the old man.
"Once more, congratulations my son! I almost thought you were into men, but thank God for the surprise. I never knew you took after your father in looking out for the best woman" Mr. Ben said with an outrageous smile,
patting his son on the shoulders.
"Dad, you shouldn't have come without informing me, and please, stop jumping into conclusion so quickly. I'm not…"
"I know you're not happy that I just showed up at your house without prior notification, but what do you expect from an old man that only have the maids and dogs as companions for twenty four hours? Mr. Ben interrupted before Henry could finish his statement. "In fact, let me post on all my social media hanles that I'm now a proud father-in-law to Erica—the most beautiful girl in town," his father added, while he smuggled his phone out his pocket, and started typing.
Henry stood still, wondering what kind of a father he had. He only wanted to his father that he's not married, but the old man wasn't patient enough to listen and ended up jumping into the wrong conclusion.
"Dad, can you please leave this whole drama for tomorrow? It is late already and people are asleep"
"Yes I know, that's why I want to wake them up with the surprise news of my son's surprised wedding!" Mr. Ben replied, heading towards his room to enjoy his sleep.
Henry had a sleepless night–not only for the emotional beating he received from his two-year relationship, but also wondering how he'll explain and convince the strange lady in his room who was only running for her dear life that the news is all over the internet, that they're married, and also how to plan for his new appointment which is just in some few hours to come. He slept on the couch as the lady slept on the bed. Early in the morning, He woke up and went straight to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for his dad and his wife. He went to check on her when he saw the young lad having a beautiful conversation with his father already. The two seemed to flow well, out of excitement, Mr. Ben let open to her everything she needed to know about Henry, narrating how he brought the boy up from childhood.
"Let me excuse you two to enjoy your new marriage moments." Mr. Ben said as he slouched to his room.
"Good morning, beautiful. Thank God you're awake. Don't mind anything my father has told you.
I'm Henry Benson. Welcome to my apartment" Henry warmly welcomed her handing over a sumptuous meal to her for breakfast, as he was certain that she must definitely be hungry.
Erica's face brightens with a smile, Henry's stature and sense of humour are the perfect characteristics she needs in a man. But how sure is she that he's not just like other men out there?
"I'm really grateful for last night. Thank you for saving my life. I owe you a lot! By the way, I'm Erica Marcos." The young lady said, as she sipped a cup of coffee prepared by Henry.
Henry kept on staring at her as she talked, imagining himself grabbing those cup-sized breasts and the mighty curves.
"I'm sorry for my father's wrong judgement. I'll try and explain everything to him when he calms down his excitement."
"There's no need for that. You can't make a fool of that old man after posting on social media."
They were still talking when Thandeka opened the door with force, as if someone was after his life.
"Guy, you won't believe what I'm seeing. Shit! It is all over the internet. I just pray that the board chairman and the panel haven't seen this." Thandeka handed his phone to Henry, as he wandered round the room.
"Oh my gosh! This is real bullshit! Why today of all days? I'm sure this was done on purpose to tarnish my image!" Henry exclaimed in dismay.
It was all over the media that the young billionaire, Henry Benson is a ritualist, which explains the source of his success and accomplishments, and being gay was the condition given to him which explains why he has never been committed with any woman in his life.
Henry's countenance changed, he stood up facing the wall with his face down and placed one hand on the wall and the other his waist. He felt a soft hand on his shoulders, and a tin voice whispered to him, "Worry not! I'll marry you to prove them wrong. You saved my life and this is the least I could do for you to save your reputation as well."
Henry turned to Erica, out of excitement, he couldn't stop himself from hugging her. Ouch, he felt the softness of those breasts on his chest again.
The good thing was that most of his fans didn't believe the story because his father has tweeted just some few minutes before the scandal about him being a proud father in-law and soon-to-be grandfather.
"Let's sign a contract for two years, and I'm sure by then everything must have been in place." Erica said.
They both agreed to sign the contract, penning down their conditions. They agreed to act as real lovers to cut off doubt from anybody. Henry took out from his pocket the ring he bought to engage Emilia and gave her to fix on her finger as their wedding ring.
They were all seated at the dinning when they heard a knock on the door. It was the dispatch driver that brought the clothes Henry had ordered for Erica last night when she was still asleep.
"Awww, thank you honey" Erica said as she stood up and hugged him by the side, giving him a peg on the cheeks. Their acting was so perfect that no one can tell if their marriage was fake.
"Honey, select one of the outfits that best fits you and dress up. I'll love you to be part of my celebration today at the office after the appointment." Darwin said as he clenched his hands into her palms.
"Oh, Today is my day! I can't wait to see how that proud jerk is going to bury himself in shame when I end up being the Managing director of Blue C Ltd." Darwin smirks as he stands in the mirror, checking how presentable he looks.
What he doesn't know is that Henry had gotten married overnight.
