CHAPTER FOUR
The healing process
Greg was gradually recovering from the accident injuries. But he had a mental disorder as a result of the accident, hence the need to be moved to the psychiatric hospital after proper medical treatment of other injuries sustained. His father had been with him all through the night. He loves Greg more than his junior sibling because Greg's mother has been his first love. When it was dawn, Ma'am Tamara walked in to relieve her husband of the stress. Her intention was to convince her husband to go home so she could execute her plans. She had always wished that Greg would die so that her son Marvin would be the only heir of the Aloha's family. She has always mistreated Greg since the day she got married to his father, but she will always pretend to be caring towards him in his father's presence so that he won't suspect anything bad from her behavior. Then she will be able to carry out all her evil plans successfully. She tried to poison her son's mind towards Greg, but Marvin wouldn't accept to portray hatred towards his only brother.
Marvin has always loved and respected Greg as his elder brother and never supported his mother in mistreating him. Giving him a soft massage on the shoulders,
"My love, you need to go home and rest. Marvin and I can look after him," said Tamara to her husband, Mr. Aloha.
Her plan was to send her son Marvin on an errand so she could have the opportunity to poison Greg to death.
Locking his hands into her hands and with a huge sense of appreciation, Mr. Aloha told Tamara, "Alright, my love, thank you so much for everything you've done for this family since the day I married you. Thank you for the understanding, love, care, and support you've given to me and the children. Thank you for being a mother to Greg. I know it is not easy to take care of a sick, grown-up person, but please don't get tired of Greg. With faith in God, he'll soon be out of here, and we can all have some good rest. Let me go home and get some rest." Tamara gave a faint smile as she walked her husband out to the hospital gate.
As she went back into the hospital ward, Marvin was seated beside his brother. She sent Marvin on a two-hour errand so that before her husband or son would come back, she would have finished executing her plans. Immediately after Marvin left, she arranged her dress and danced joyfully because her victory had finally come. Standing beside Greg's bed, Tamara thought in her mind,
"You idiot, you think I'll be married to your father and still allow a motherless child like you to share equal inheritance with my son? Hmm, let me help you fasten your journey to go meet your disgusting mother wherever she is, because I don't think there's anything left for you again.
Your girlfriend of nine years has left you; don't you think it is best that you die so that you can forget about all the sorrows of this life? Don't worry; Marvin and I can take care of your father. Enough of all the bragging about your father saying his first son is the CEO of his company instead of my son. I've always longed to be called the mother of the CEO, not the stepmother of the CEO.
Reaching her bag to bring out the poison to inject Greg, Marvin came running into the ward. (There has been a clash between two occultic groups with the exchange of gunshots, so the road was blocked, and Marvin has no choice but to run for his life.)
Throwing the syringe on the ground when the door opens as a result of confusion and fear because she doesn't know who opened the door, Tamara shouts, 'O my God!'
"What is the problem, mommy?" Marvin inquired.
"It's nothing, my son, just a sharp, slight headache," replied Tamara.
Greg started coughing profusely. Marvin ran out to call the doctor. Tamara hurriedly carried the syringe from the ground and put it back into her bag. Marvin walked in with the doctor to check on Greg. When the doctor finished checking Greg, seeing that she couldn't accomplish her mission, she became angry, left Marvin alone to take care of his brother, and pretentiously fell sick.
"Hmmmmm, you're lucky you escaped my trap today. Just be ready; you might not be too lucky next time. Better start saying your last wishes, then go meet your wretched, stinking, and stupid late mother." Ma'am Tamara kept talking to herself, frowning as she entered her room.
Speaking to herself, "I need to devise a more intelligent strategy this time around. I have to make sure that he doesn't escape death again."
The next day, Tamara went to the hospital early in the morning. She went to the office of the doctor on duty and said, " Good morning, sir."
"Morning, madam, how may I help you?" Replied to the doctor.
She smiled, and taking a seat, she stated
"Thank you, sir. I'm here for the patient in Ward 5. I need a favor from you, with your understanding and cooperation. I want to offer you a deal. Five million dollars to give him the wrong injection to die."
"I can't do such a thing, madam! That's against my profession. My job is to live a safe life and not to end it. Please, you may shut the door behind you if you have nothing positive and important to talk about," the doctor responded while walking towards the door to excuse Ma'am Tamara out.
"Ten million dollars and a thicket to any country of your choice for fear of being caught," replied Tamara.
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but I can't tarnish my reputation because of ten million. There's no amount of money that can buy my conscience. You may try someone else." The doctor stood by his words.
