Chapter 4 - CHAPTER THREE

The sirens didn't stop blaring. The view of the ground floor of the organization seemed like a chromatic aberrated view in a convex lens. What was that? Jessica wondered. She couldn't tell what was going on, at least, the last thing she could recall was passing out after tripping over some wires.

"Get them!" Her attention was immediately pulled towards the guards in black running towards the right. There were more than twenty, and each of them had weapons in their hands. Jessica could hear herself gasping, could it have been-? She didn't want to make assumptions about her being guilty of what had happened. She decided to keep on watching instead, whether she was at fault or not, what she should be after was her exclusive, that was what she was there for initially.

"My phone…" She tried to move her arms but she couldn't, but that was not the only thing she was bothered about, her voice was sounding reverberating. She was confused, but her sense of consciousness seemed to be deceiving her.

A loud gunshot was heard, followed by a sudden flash around the men in black, They had all lost their weapons. "What is that?" She asked herself and looked ahead of the men in black. It seemed like her body had moved forward to see the ones the guards were attacking, but she didn't seem concerned at that point.

She could see five individuals, a huge guy carrying a lady in his arms, behind the five of them, just ahead of the huge man, was a lady that seemed to be shivering, cowering in fear. Another guy held the lady to support her and calm her. Another lady was just beside them, making a fighting stance, in case anything came her way. Ahead of them all, was another guy, who apparently had just zoomed to where he was then. He ran off again, throwing some punches at the men opposing them.

"EHh?!" Jessica immediately shut her eyes after she had just noticed that the five of them were unclothed. 'What the hell?' she thought to herself. It didn't take long before she noticed how familiar they looked as if they had only just met.

"What's going on exactly?" She had to ask. But then, her confusion increased when she looked closely at the huge one behind the five. "Who is that?" She questioned, almost shutting her eyes, straining them to look at who he carried.

'Gasp!' She immediately gasped after noticing that the lady in his arms had the same build as her, the same clothes on, THE SAME FACE. "That's me?" She was now more astonished.

"Me?" She had repeated it when of a sudden, her vision got blurred, then cleared up in a few seconds, but now it was much unclear, as if she had just woken up from a dream. Now she could see the face of the guy that carried her much closer. The hairy feel of his chest discomforted her, and she was bothered. "Who…?" She wanted to ask, when a huge force forced the guy back, a loud yell coming from him just after that. "Wha-?" She was about to ask when she felt herself falling, with much force, as if falling off a skyscraper, and it was so thrilling that in the process of wanting to yell, she felt her backdrop on top of a soft comfortable surface.

She opened her eyes, her gaze upon a dirty white ceiling, and she immediately thought to herself, 'Now where the fuck is this?' She could feel herself panting hard, and she could feel the sweat on her face, she could still feel the thrill from the fall she had just witnessed, as if she was still falling.

"Are you up?"

She heard a lady's voice and turned to her left, but the person, she was sure didn't know. She could recall tripping over those wires in that room, and she was definitely sure that was not the hospital, that is if anyone had saved her. 'Am I still dreaming?' She had completely surrendered to the thought of her earlier episode being a trance, but now, who the hell were those people staring at her?

"Jessica Adair?" Another person called out from the room.

"Hm?" She twisted her neck more now to see who it was that knew her identity. At least, if she really was dreaming, it would be good to at least have someone she knew there to allow her release her anxiousness. But, she didn't know who that person was either. "Yes, I am definitely dreaming,"

"Ah, she thinks we are some illusions instead," Now it was another voice, and before she heard another word, she made sure to pinch herself in the cheek. While doing that, she felt some other finger on her cheek, and it did feel so real.

"Let me help you instead" It was another male voice, after that was a painful pinch to her cheek.

"AHH!" She had screamed and sat up. Who the hell was that?

"Can you see that it is real now?"

"Who are you?" She looked at the person in the eye.

"You don't still recall? I'm sure you had opened your eyes for a split second before that attack struck me," One of the guys that had spoken added.

"Me?"

"You don't remember looking at some tube?" The one that pinched her asked her.

"Wait…" Now it was all coming back, she looked at the faces of those present in the room with her. They were five, and she could see they all resembled the ones in the tube, in the next instant, over a thousand rushed down her mind, and she wasn't sure of which she should ask first.

"You remember us now?" The one that just pinched her asked her again.

"Why am I here?" That was the first question that she thought to ask first.

"Well, it's a long story" The lady that had first spoken answered.

"I need to go home," She let her legs down from the bed, raising herself. She could now see the room fully. It seemed like a store room, but much wider and spacious. The room looked like no one had lived in it for months, given how everything in there seemed dusty, with cobwebs on most corners of the room, it made her creep out. She looked at the dusty clock dirtied by the webs around it, the time was 9:18. Given the bright light coming from the little windows opened up, she could tell that it was morning.

"But you can't"

"I can not stay in here, it's sickening." She tried to make a way for herself and make it to the door.

"Will you listen?" The guy who grabbed her cheeks blocked her path.

"No, I'm leaving. I have work, I have a dog to cater for at home, I have to leave,"

"But you have nowhere to go,"

"Am I kidnapped?"

"Jessica Adair! Wait a minute and listen!" She was already panicking when the guy who had yet to speak called out, and she stopped. "Take a look at this,"

He stretched his arm, handing over a cell phone to her. She took it and looked at the cell phone, it was hers. She then looked at the screen of the phone, and after a few seconds of reading what he had shown to her, she opened her mouth in confusion, using her other hand to cover her mouth. Tears ran down her cheeks.
