Jessica sat on a wonky chair, nervously looking at the front of the five that stationed themselves ahead of her, Each of them sitting on something with a firm balance, anything, at least, what Jessica could think. The only one on his feet was Cole, probably because of his restless nature.
""I--"" Both Jessica and Jason, one of the seated guys, said together and made a pause to let the other have the room, and the awkwardness allowed them to lock a short gaze, which they cancelled instantly.
"Let me start" Williams said. "Look here, Jessica, this should be the last we'll be having to save your ass if you make some stupid move."
While still wondering how she could come to place her trust in the palms of five completely anonymous individuals, she chose to talk. "I apologize, but do I get the chance to satisfy my curiosity?"
"Go on," Williams approved.
"I know we're in the same situation, at least, we're posing to, so, how do I get to trust any of you? For all I care, I could find my family, hide there, and I won't have anything to lose if you guys are fucked..." For a moment after saying that, one of the ladies in the room snickered, but she continued, ignoring the annoying tease. "I mean, you guys have nothing to lose, I have a family,"
"It seems we're yet to go with an introduction, so before I go on, Jason, I am. Now, it seems we still seem to resemble some robots without roots in your eyes, because, if you think you're the only human here without a family, I'll like to let you know you're not smart. If you think we don't have anything to lose, we at least love our lives, if you don't--"
"But do you think helping me would relieve your guilt? If I leave and get caught, you guys can keep on living, I mean..."
While they were all annoyed by her thought process, Jason spoke up again.
"Oh... We chose to help some ungrateful piece of dog crap--"
"What?" The worked up look filled up her face. And immediately the lady earlier burst into a jeer, making her even more worked up.
"Yes, because if not for some stupid reasoning you have in that brain of yours, it should have told you to lay some words of appreciation even if you wanted to leave. If Cole hadn't gone with you, God knows which of the two eternal you'd have gone to. Now, If you're looking for a more reasonable reason, I'd say, if you're captured, which is more liable since they'll want to find us, what are the odds your fucked up brain would not rat us out?"
"Enough!" Williams chipped in. Jason's words were right, but too damn harsh that he convinced himself that he'll have let out a punch if he was in her stead. "Jason, the kid is just seeing the fucked up parts of the world, go easy on her."
"I'll say no. If she knew what my own blood brother did to me, she'd not be crying over her family. Oh, and if you're wondering who the hell I am, I am Olivia Mason, the sister of the CEO of Pulsetech. Not pleased to meet you,"
For a moment after hearing her identity, Jessica had her mouth wide open in bewilderment, wondering how that may have happened, but there was more to life than she thought.
"Well, I am Lily Miller, and I have no family... Maybe a woman claiming to be my mom... But I don't know about that. Well, you should... be thanking your stars that the people here got a heart, because I for one dont give two fucks about you. You can die for all I care..." Lily spoke, giggling at intervals, and sniffling, an habit she got from her constant intake of cocaine, though she hadn't got a taste of that for months.
"Well, since everyone's introducing themselves, I'm Cole, Cole Wilson, you probably know my name already though," He winked, smiling, "And he's William, don't know his others." He pointed to Williams.
Completely ignoring Cole, she spoke up, "Well, this is still a lot for me, and I still can't completely trust you guys. So, for now, what do you plan to do? Prove your innocence by staying in this almost completely fucked cabin?"
"You're damn right," Jason followed.
"And how?"
"Well, that's what we should have been discussing if it wasn't for you,"
"Do you have an issue with me?" It nearly seemed like he had a knife up her throat, and his gaze were only making it worse.
"Hell, yes, I do, what do you think?"
The atmosphere was getting heated when Lily broke the silence. "So, we have the runaway queen back, so William what did you say the plan was? I for one do agree with the runaway queen with one thing… There's no way staying in some hideout forever is going to help us to prove our innocence, and once again, I don't really care about that also since I was in the prison before I got wrapped up in this mess,"
"Hey, which is it?" Olivia had to speak up, Lily was already getting on her nerves.
"Who owns this hideout by the way?" Williams asked. "I only got into that van because it seemed the person in was telling us to get in."
"It's my friend's former lab, an abandoned one. He works with the company," Olivia answered. They'd have known sooner or later, so it only was a better option to tell them as soon as she could.
"What?! And you didn't say shit?" William immediately shifted his gaze to her.
"You do realize he is working with them? What made you.."
"I know, I do know, and I'm also mad at him, because…" Olivia began to sob, sniffling. She wasn't able to continue, but Lily wasn't I tune with her reasoning, she burst into laughter, and so did Cole.
"What's funny?" Jessica eyed Lily, before doing the same with Cole, but none of them cared, and it pissed Jessica, especially Lily.
"Let's all relax," Jason said. "This may actually favor us, and at the same time, it could work against us."
"Do you have a plan?" Williams inferred.
