Chen Mo shook his head helplessly and pointed to the box.
"This longsword is also made of Adamantium alloy. It's incredibly sharp and, with enough strength, can cut through iron like mud. You don't have to worry about it breaking."
Steve then remembered the longsword at the bottom. He usually performed with a shield and wasn't familiar with swords, so he hadn't paid attention earlier. Hearing Chen Mo's explanation, he realized that this medieval two-handed knight's sword was extraordinary.
In the limited space of the cabin, Steve picked up the longsword to test its feel. The few kilograms felt weightless in his hand, and the two-handed sword was easy to wield with one hand.
Satisfied with the two weapons, Steve turned to Chen Mo gratefully.
"Thank you, Master! With these, I can definitely rescue Bucky!"
Chen Mo felt a wave of helplessness again. He seriously doubted Steve's intelligence at this moment.
Since learning about Bucky's danger, Steve had planned to drive a jeep and, with just a shield, single-handedly break through the tightly guarded German defenses to rescue Bucky from the Hydra base. Now, he was so focused on the immediate task that he thought the large box only contained two weapons.
Had he forgotten the basic principle of staying calm in a crisis because Chen Mo hadn't been around to teach him personally for too long?
Chen Mo glared at Steve, making him shiver and remember the days of "training" in the dojo.
Just as Steve was feeling confused, Chen Mo coldly said, "There's also an Adamantium alloy combat suit in the box. Put it on immediately!"
Steve then realized why Chen Mo was angry. He had been so worried about Bucky that he had lost his composure. His master had taught him to stay calm at all times, and he must be angry that Steve had panicked.
Taking a deep breath, Steve's eyes gradually steadied.
Looking at Chen Mo again, there was no more anxiety or impatience.
"Yes, Master!"
After being scolded by Chen Mo, Steve didn't hesitate. He took off his jacket and pants and put on the black alloy combat suit from the box.
Fortunately, he was still wearing his tight performance uniform underneath. Otherwise, Carter would have been torn between turning away or sneaking a peek.
Steve, already tall and strong, looked even more imposing in the combat suit. Carter's eyes sparkled, and her breathing quickened, her chest rising and falling.
"With this full-body Adamantium alloy armor, you only need to protect your head with the shield and avoid heavy weapons. You won't fear any attack," Chen Mo said, glancing at the starry-eyed Carter.
Carter, eyes shining, quickly walked up to Steve and gently touched the alloy armor on his chest.
The cold, hard steel made her fingertips tingle, as if an electric current flowed through the armor, making her feel numb and her cheeks hot.
Steve, looking at the beautiful Carter in front of him, felt a bit flustered.
Chen Mo, comfortably leaning back in a leather seat, found their behavior amusing. They clearly liked each other but wouldn't break the ice.
Carter quickly snapped out of her daze, withdrew her hand, and returned to her seat, her cheeks slightly red.
Steve, regaining his composure, glanced at Chen Mo, meeting his knowing gaze.
Feeling like he had been caught doing something wrong, Steve quickly turned back to the box and took out more items, including a black combat suit, a special harness for carrying the sword and shield, two pistols with holsters, magazines, and other gear.
Without needing Chen Mo's instructions, Steve put on the combat suit and equipped himself with everything.
The shield was strapped to his back with a special buckle, easy to take off and put on without hindering movement or combat. The longsword was vertically inserted inside the shield, with the hilt just behind his head, ready to be drawn quickly in battle.
Carter, barely controlling her excitement, cleared her throat to cover her unease and took out a map to explain the Hydra base's situation to the two men.
"This Hydra base is in Klausburg, located between two mountain ranges. According to aerial reconnaissance photos, it looks more like a giant factory."
"I'll try to get you to the entrance!" Howard called from the cockpit, sounding excited.
Howard, who had been seasick, was now full of energy. After flying from London to the Italian front and then to the enemy's Klausburg base, he showed no signs of fatigue, completely different from his seasick self.
Maybe the Stark family had a flying gene, though his future son Tony Stark would take it to a higher level.
"No need. The Hydra base has anti-aircraft guns. One hit, and your plane will be in pieces."
"With my skills…"
Howard began to argue, wanting to emphasize his piloting skills, but Chen Mo cut him off.
"No matter how good you are, there's still a risk. Steve and I don't mind; we won't die if the plane breaks apart. But you must safely return Agent Carter. Or do you want her to join you in a mid-air stunt?"
Howard, silenced by Chen Mo, didn't dare speak. He didn't mind risking Chen Mo, his "boss" and future child's godfather, but he felt bad about risking Carter.
Chen Mo had long noticed Howard's contradictory personality. He was usually afraid of death but loved excitement. When overly excited, he ignored danger and took bold risks.
Howard fell silent, and Chen Mo, after looking at the map, gave orders.
"We've crossed the German lines. Once we enter the mountains and find the Hydra base, Steve and I will parachute, and you two will return immediately!"
