Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: Super Military Factory

Carter wanted to say something, but Chen Mo raised his hand to stop him.

"It's decided. The remaining journey poses no difficulty for us, so there's no need to take risks by getting closer."

Hearing this, Carter didn't insist. After all, Chen Mo was the commander of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the battle plans were always made by him. All combat matters were led by him, and even Colonel Phillips rarely intervened in his operations.

The Hydra base was only thirty miles from the front line, and at the speed of the plane, they quickly entered the mountains and approached the base.

Chen Mo pretended to "take out" his weapons from the cargo hold at the tail of the cabin. He strapped the Vibranium shield and the Sword of Kings to his back, holstered two black M1911 pistols on his thighs, and inserted twenty Adamantium throwing knives into the belt around his waist.

After confirming the location of the Hydra base, Chen Mo and Steve parachuted two mountain peaks away from the base.

"Be careful!"

Carter stood at the cabin door and shouted to the two of them. Chen Mo didn't flatter himself by thinking she was talking to him. Even if she was, it was incidental.

Under the cover of night, Chen Mo and Steve quietly landed in the forest. After organizing their equipment, they found their direction and quickly headed towards the Hydra base.

The base wasn't far away, and with their extraordinary speed and stamina, they soon quietly approached the Hydra base and hid in a forest in front of the gate.

The Hydra base, like a giant beast lurking in the night, had towering buildings tens of meters high that resembled a majestic dam spanning the mountains, even blocking the distant sky.

Tall concrete pillars and barbed wire fences surrounded the entire base, leaving only a gate in front of Chen Mo, connected to the outside world by a forest path.

Dozens of bright searchlights continuously swept the inside and outside of the base, making it exceptionally conspicuous in the night.

It wasn't easy to sneak in silently. Although the fence was nothing to Chen Mo, and the Sword of Kings could easily cut through it, and with their strength, they could easily climb over it, the wide open space between the fence and the base made it easy to be exposed under the frequently scanning searchlights, alerting the enemy.

The two of them hid in the forest, quietly waiting for an opportunity.

Just as Steve was getting impatient, Chen Mo suddenly whispered.

"They're here!"

Steve looked at Chen Mo in confusion and saw his gaze fixed on the end of the forest path leading to the Hydra base.

Steve followed his gaze. The path, actually three or four meters wide, was cut through the forest, with tall, lush trees on both sides.

Under Steve's watchful eyes, there was soon movement at the end of the path.

First, a faint engine sound came from a distance, getting closer and clearer. Then, two headlights pierced the darkness, indicating that vehicles were approaching.

Soon, several trucks emerged from the corner at the end of the path. Chen Mo glanced at Steve and whispered.

"Follow me closely!"

Steve nodded, following Chen Mo to the side of the path. After the trucks passed, Chen Mo quickly darted out of the forest, leaping onto the back of the last truck.

Steve followed closely, jumping in as well. When he steadied himself in the truck, he saw Chen Mo already sitting on a wooden crate, with two fully armed Hydra soldiers lying on the ground, each with a throwing knife in their eye sockets.

"Retrieve the knives and throw the bodies out!"

Chen Mo, sitting on the supply box, ordered. With a disciple by his side, Chen Mo didn't need to handle these small tasks himself.

"Yes, Master!"

Steve quickly responded, pulling out the knives, cleaning them, and handing them back to Chen Mo. He then easily lifted the bodies and threw them out of the truck.

Their truck was at the end of the convoy, with only the dark, silent forest behind them. There was no light source, and everything was pitch black, so there was no worry of being discovered by the people in front.

The truck convoy smoothly entered the Hydra base gate and stopped in front of a warehouse on one side of the base. The supplies on the trucks would be unloaded here one by one.

Several fully armed Hydra soldiers patrolled in front of the warehouse, while a group of workers quickly approached the first truck to start unloading supplies.

Taking advantage of the workers and guards not noticing, Chen Mo led Steve out of the truck, using the vehicle as cover, and headed towards the towering base building in the night.

Between the warehouse and the massive base building was a wide open space, neatly parked with dozens of black heavy tanks and armored vehicles. The skull Hydra emblem on the vehicles looked even colder and more sinister in the night.

Clearly, this base housed a sizable Hydra armored mechanized unit. Steve couldn't help but worry about whether they could successfully rescue the captives.

However, seeing Chen Mo's calm and tall figure ahead, Steve felt inexplicably reassured, discarding his worries and following closely behind Chen Mo.

Using the tanks and armored vehicles as cover, they avoided the searchlights and patrolling Hydra soldiers, quickly crossing the open space and reaching a row of long buildings connected to the base. A three-meter-high heavy armored vehicle was parked against the wall.

Chen Mo quickly climbed onto the roof using the armored vehicle, with Steve following closely, disappearing from the patrolling Hydra soldiers' sight below.

The two of them ran swiftly along the rooftops towards the towering base building. The varying heights of the buildings posed no problem for them, as they climbed and leaped, silently approaching the building and successfully entering through a window.

Chen Mo was very familiar with the interior of the base, including the structure and layout of the entire building.

To avoid alerting the enemy, Chen Mo carefully sensed the surroundings, leading Steve past waves of Hydra soldiers, successfully crossing the outer perimeter and entering the core area of the base. The massive production workshop of the weapons factory was fully revealed before them.

The outer layers of the building were divided into separate floors, while the central area of the building, occupying nearly half of the entire structure, was a vertically connected production workshop, tens of meters high.
