Liam was on the phone that morning, though his attention was lost in the crowd. He kept on searching to find Clarissa, but she was yet to resume. Maybe it was pity he felt for her, especially after her plan was about to fail again.
It had to be pity and nothing else.
"Are you there?" The voice said again from the phone, and he nodded, forgetting she couldn't see him nod. "Liam?"
"What? I'm here." Liam groaned. "You do know I'm at work, Chloe?" He rolled his eyes. Suddenly, as he turned to his left, Clarissa could be seen patting herself on the back. How had he not noticed her before? "Hey, let's talk later, okay? I'm very busy right now."
"Hey, don't you hang up. I am trying to be your friend now just as you've asked--" Chloe was saying until Liam hung up.
