The businessman's eyes flashed with anger, but Jake stood his ground.
"We have the evidence," Jake said. "You're finished."
The businessman snarled, pulling out a phone. "You'll never leave this place alive."
But before he could dial, Jack stepped forward. "I don't think so," he said, grabbing the phone.
A struggle ensued, with the businessman's security guards rushing into the room. But Alex and Sarah were ready, using their wits and whatever they could find to fend off the guards.
Jake, meanwhile, confronted the businessman. "It's over," he said. "Your empire is crumbling."
The businessman's face twisted with rage, but Jake saw something else there too - fear.
"What do you know about the Richmond case?" Jake demanded.
The businessman's eyes darted back and forth, searching for an escape. But there was none.
"Tell me," Jake pressed.
And then, in a flash of anger, the businessman spoke. "It was an accident," he said. "A tragic accident. But we had to cover it up. We had to protect ourselves."
Jake's eyes narrowed. "What did you do?"
The businessman's voice dropped to a whisper. "We hid the evidence. We paid off the witnesses. We made it go away."
But Jake knew that some secrets could never be buried. And now, finally, the truth would come to light.
