The SUV screeched to a halt outside the factory, and a team of heavily armed agents poured out. Jake's instincts screamed at him to act fast.
"Get down!" he yelled, pushing Alex and Sarah to the ground.
Echo sprang into action, pulling out a small device from his pocket. He pressed a button, and a loud whistle pierced the air.
The agents hesitated, momentarily disoriented. That was all the time Jake needed.
"Follow me!" he shouted, grabbing Alex and Sarah.
They sprinted through the factory, dodging crates and leaping over obstacles. Echo brought up the rear, firing his device again to keep the agents at bay.
They burst through a side door, emerging into a narrow alley. Jack's car was waiting, engine revving.
"In!" Jack yelled, as they leapt into the vehicle.
They sped away from the factory, the agents hot on their heels. But Echo's device had given them a crucial head start.
As they drove, Alex turned to Jake. "We can't shake them forever," she said. "We need a plan."
Jake nodded. "I've got one."
He pulled out his phone, dialing a number. "We need to get the evidence to the press," he said. "And I know just the person to help us."
