PROLOGUE

The air around, is warm with quick sizzles of heat; getting warmer as time goes by. Thunderous roars, heard from all directions. My skin feels like it's being set ablaze every second and is cooled down before it can sense the heat. There was commotion as the people could not comprehend the situation. My eyes are raining; my legs can't take the burden. I fall to the ground and weep. My mind feels betrayed, as I am supposed to stay angry at him, but I can't, why? My ears are ringing; my hands refuse to protect them, as they accompany my eyes.

'All I ask for is a chance, a chance to show you.' These words fill the void in my head. Why should I forgive him? My mind agitates. After all he's done, why should I? Can I forgive him? My mind calms down. What if he really... My mind sinks at that thought.

Then amidst all the chaos, the booming stopped oh-so slightly. I see him reaching to me. I reach out, to him, like it was the last time I would see him. He grabs my arm, I felt different, and it was a feeling hard to explain. It felt like something in my body changed, but I don't know what. He is dressed all in black, his favorite color, I like him in black. His face is covered. Why would his face be covered? I was pouting without me knowing it. Before I know it, he was carrying me and running. The world around me slowed down. It was beautiful. My mind gave up, it had forgotten about the anger I had for him. My skin felt heat. But it was tolerable. I look at him. He was looking at me. He rips away his mask. He was hurt. He is smiling down at me, relaxed. But I also see him frightened and angry.

"I told you; you are not good at hiding your emotions." I spoke.

"I am." He chuckles.

Tears drench his eyes. No, no, no, don't you cry. I gently brush his cheek. He leans, into it.

"I'm happy." He answered my unvoiced plead.

"I'm happy you saw." He slows down. He gently releases me. "I love you." For some reason it felt like a goodbye. Things around me fasten to normal, as he vanishes with a loud thunderous clap. Soon, a booming sound was heard. It is ear-splitting. It felt like the sky had crashed onto land. I jam my hands into my ears, as hard as I can. On removing my hands, the right was stained with blood. I wasn't able to hear anything on my right. The pain was unbearable. I fell to the ground. Everything around me starts to blur out, fading away. I was tired. It went dark. How does he still love me?
