Chapter 4 - Luan Xie is actually good-looking!

An hour had passed since Luan Xie left the house after hearing He Shun's words. He did not even let He Shun finish his words. Luan Xie stayed quiet and dashed out of the house.

He Shun was not worried. Luan Xie was a strong, tough-minded warrior despite his villainous actions. He could handle going somewhere by himself and eventually finding a way back to his world.

As for the current moment, He Shun was busy reciting his script. He had less than seven hours left. He Shun already made a plan. He'd learn the script by heart in three hours, and then he'd sleep for three hours. In the last hour, he'd procrastinate getting ready.

To be honest, He Shun did not know why he was learning the whole script. It was not even the first shooting. It was only the workshop of the first act in the set. However, He Shun knew that if he'd go unprepared, he'd get bashed by the seniors.

It would be for the best if he just learnt it all in one go. He had faced several criticisms—not constructive ones, but pure criticisms. He made a promise to himself not to let that repeat again.

Two hours had passed since. He Shun put the script back to its folder. He managed to learn it whole. He was now preparing to sleep, wearing his cartoon print pyjamas, his hair tied up, forming an open umbrella, and his face covered in mask sheets. As an actor, it was important to take care of his skin.

He was all set up.

Until the door slammed open. He Shun looked at the intruder. For a moment, he had forgotten about Luan Xie until he saw the latter in front of him again in a... messy attire.

"What happened?"

Luan Xie glared at He Shun. He was spitting fire through his eyes, which seemed so angry that it could kill He Shun right away. His hands were clenched into fists as he took long strides towards He Shun.

"What kind of men live in this world?"

He Shun took a step back. He did not want to be too close to Luan Xie in fear that he might face the wrath of his anger. "What?"

"They tried to rob me, tore my attire, and even snatched my bracelet. It was pure gold," Luan Xie showed his wrist, which turned completely red, and slowly started to bleed due to the immense force the robbers put.

Luan Xie looked wrecked, no longer the sophisticated man he once was when he came here. Even if he was looking battered, his clothes were intact, and his demeanour did not change. His clothes were torn apart, and holes and mud made their way on them. His hair was dishevelled, completely telling He Shun about the stormy weather outside. He was drenched in rain.

"What is on your face?" Luan Xie asked after a few minutes of complete silence. He had never seen someone wearing... papers?

He Shun took off his mask and tossed it away to the bin. "Don't bother too much about it. It is just caring for the skin. Now, why don't you take a shower first?" He Shin asked.

Luan Xie maintained his glare but knew better than to compromise with his health. "Where?"

He Shun showed him the way. Now, another problem was that Luan Xie had no idea how to shower with 'modern' equipment. He Shun had to show him how to turn on and off the shower head and everything else. Luan Xie was amazed, even if he did not show it much. He Shun could pick it up from the small tucked up of the lips.

He Shun was running thirty minutes late on his schedule. He was supposed to already hit the bed and sleep, but here he was now—waiting for Luan Xie to come out of the shower.

"Human, how do we wear these?" Luan Xie's voice echoed in He Shun's room. The latter turned towards the door of the bathroom, which was still close, but he could sense Luan Xie standing right behind it.

"I put front and back on a paper and placed them on the clothes. Wear it like that. The two small holes are for the arms, and the big one is where your head goes. As for the pants, you can figure it out."

A few minutes afterwards, Luan Xie finally managed to wear the pyjamas He Shun handed him. He came out and looked at He Shun, feeling quite uncomfortable with this kind of outfit.

He Shun looked back. "I don't have a guestroom. Sleep on the couch," he said. He must have lost his mind completely to ask someone like Luan Xie to sleep on the couch.

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

Luan Xie felt offended. That couch was so small. It could not even possibly fit Luan Xie in it. "Do you know who I am? How dare you ask me to—"

"Right now, you are powerless," He Shun said.

Luan Xie was angry. It was not like he was not used to this kind of behaviour, but to be treated like this from someone whom he just met infuriated him.

"I won't sleep on the couch," It was more of a statement. Luan Xie wanted the final say, and he made sure that he had it.

He Shun stared at Luan Xie for a while, as if he was analysing the latter profoundly. Luan Xie remained expressionless, his gaze determined as if he was going on a war. After a few minutes, He Shun finally spoke up,

"It's just sleeping. Don't act like you are about to murder me now. Sleep with me on the bed then."

"What?"

"What?"

A few minutes later, He Shun blinked, stupefied. He was in disbelief. He did not expect Luan Xie to take on his offer so easily. He glanced at the man beside him, sleeping profoundly. He Shun observed the subtle movements of Luan Xie's ears, twitching every thirty seconds like a silent sentinel. The latter still had his guards up even if he was on a deep slumber.

The rain was still coming down hard outside, power out, and all. He Shun could only make out Luan Xie's face in the moonlight sneaking through the window. Amidst the storm, there was Luan Xie sleeping like a baby. He Shun didn't miss a beat, taking in every detail of this seemingly fictional character. It was hard to believe the man right in front of him was ripped from the pages of a book. He kept his eyes locked on Luan Xie, moving from his twitchy ears to those surprisingly long lashes and the way his lips parted ever so slightly.

He Shun sighed deeply, adverting his gaze away from Luan Xie. He should probably go to sleep now. He had a job in the early morning. He could not afford to be late. He Shun turned his back to Luan Xie, closed his eyes, and slowly drifted off into the realm of dreams amidst the symphony of rain and thunder outside.

Whatever that would happen now, he'd deal with it the next day.
