Chapter 8 - Luan Xie is difficult!

Luan Xie was villainous, and He Shun saw that yesterday. His personality at first was contracting the novel, but yesterday's event proved that it was indeed no mistake. It was all an act that Luan Xie played out, and he portrayed it well.

He Shun looked at himself in the mirror. He could still see the marks of Luan Xie's fingers on his neck, and the redness did not seem to be going away soon. It would be a pain to cover it with makeup or to even find an excuse to tell the makeup artist. Thank goodness that he did not have any work recently.

That was not important right now. He Shun made his way to Luan Xie. The latter was sitting down on the floor, staring into space. He looked so peaceful that He Shun for a second doubted if yesterday's event did occur or not.

But he knew better now.

"Hey," He Shun spoke up. He walked closer and took a seat on the couch. His gaze deepened onto Luan Xie. Ever since the latter came here, He Shun had a strange obsessive of wanting to read the guy's mind, but he never successfully achieved it.

"About that bracelet, I need you to draw its features for me. It will be much easier if we know what we are looking for," He Shun handed Luan Xie a pen and a paper.

It was safe to know that Luan Xie had no clue how to use a pen. He fiddled with it, trying to write something down. He always used a brush, and brushes were meant to be used softly, not putting pressure at all. Pens were the opposite.

He Shun sighed when he realised that Luan Xie was probably not going to finish any time sooner without help. He Shun did not have that kind of time to spare. He just wanted to find the bracelet as soon as possible so Luan Xie wouldn't disturb him anymore.

He Shun got off the couch and kneeled down beside Luan Xie. He placed one hand on Luan Xie's shoulder, which the latter rejected by scooting away.

"What are you doing?" Luan Xie asked, feeling defensive. In a haste, he even dropped the pen down while creating a distance between the two.

He Shun took the pen, looking at it for a few seconds, perhaps pitying the object for being the newest victim of Luan Xie.

"I am trying to show you how to write with a pen."

"Oh."

"Come here."

"Right."

Luan Xie came to his previous position. He took the pen from the actor's hand and was waiting for him to show. He Shun placed his hand on top of Luan Xie's hand, his fingers straddling the latter's. The grip was tightened as He Shun showed Luan Xie how to use a pen.

The only thing Luan Xie could pick up was the warmth that he was feeling against his hand. He tried to focus, but apparently, the warmth was not only there. He Shun unconsciously pressed his body against Luan Xie's back, leaning forward where Luan Xie could see each and every detail on He Shun's face.

Luan Xie could not help but appreciate He Shun's features.

He Shun was of a slightly tanner colour. He was muscular. Even though he had an innocent face, it did not necessarily mean feminine features. He Shun was not like that at all. His eyes were just big, which gave the impression of innocence. He Shun's face was well-defined, something the media would call manly.

"Did you get it now?" He Shun suddenly spoke up, disrupting Luan Xie's train of thoughts. The latter quickly averted his gaze and looked at the paper that contained scribbles and doodles. He Shun's hand felt like a perfect fit for Luan Xie. It was warm and comfortable.

It fitted so well that it frightened Luan Xie.

And it was not just about the hands.

"I did," Luan Xie moved to the other side of the table. He did not look at He Shun at all as he grabbed another sheet of paper to draw the bracelet. He Shun was a bit shocked. That was uncalled for. Luan Xie had been welcoming a few minutes ago. He wondered what had happened now, but then again, it was Luan Xie. His personality always changed from time to time.

He Shun slowly nodded even though he knew that Luan Xie did not look at him. He made his way back to the couch, pretending to do his own stuff but glancing at Luan Xie at each given occasion. The so-called fictional character was so different to read, and He Shun felt frustrated at that. He wanted to know what was happening in Luan Xie's mind. It was not an everyday thing that you found someone in your house, and they were from a novel.

Luan Xie looked focused on the drawing. He Shun could see a glimpse of it. It was exactly in detail, from the biggest to the smallest. Luan Xie did not miss any, and He Shun wondered about the story behind the bracelet. The only thing He Shun had figured out about Luan Xie was that the golden bracelet was too important to let go, and it made He Shun more curious.

"I am done," Luan Xie slipped the paper to He Shun. Without waiting for a response, he got off and went away, perhaps to He Shun's bedroom. The actor lived in a good apartment, but not good enough to afford guestrooms. Therefore, He Shun's room had already become Luan Xie's room.

Luan Xie confused He Shun, more and more with each passing minutes. What was worse was that He Shun himself did not know why it was bothering him so much. Luan Xie was dangerous—He strangled He Shun!

Yet, He Shun still wanted to get closer to Luan Xie.

Sighing, he decided not to dwell on this matter too much. It was properly because He Shun was lonely that with the presence of a second party, those feelings were coming. Perhaps He Shun just liked the thought of coming home to someone, waking up with someone or eating with someone.

It was just an infatuation, and it would go away soon.

Right?

He Shun took the sheet of paper and looked at the drawing of the bracelet. It looked marvellous. Even though it was drawn with ink, He Shun could make out the details of the priceless gems that were in the bracelet. In the modern era, with such precious emeralds and diamonds and handmade designs, this bracelet would have been sold in millions of dollars.

It was a surprise that Luan Xie would wear such a bracelet. He Shun always thought that Luan Xie was someone who did not care about accessories, thinking them as ladylike. His character portrayal did injustice to the real Luan Xie. There were so many things hidden that He Shun was now slowly discovering.

The more He Shun discovered about Luan Xie, the more he liked the feelings, perhaps friendship towards Luan Xie.
