Chapter 5 - Luan Xie is useless!

The next morning, or could it even be considered the next morning? He Shun received only two hours of sleep. He had to get to work in an hour now. He groggily opened his stubborn eyes as he sat up on the bed.

The rain was still pouring heavily. He Shun nearly forgot all the events that occurred last night if he did not see Luan Xie sitting on the couch in front of him, staring into his eyes.

He Shun felt awkward. He shifted uncomfortably on the bed as he maintained eye contact with Luan Xie. The two stared at each other, Luan Xie still in He Shun's cartoon print pyjamas, sitting on the couch, and He Shun, wrapped in his blanket, his hair ressembling a bird nest, sitting on the bed.

He Shun awkwardly smiled. He got off the bed and nearly went to the bathroom when he realised something. Luan Xie was not familiar with modern life ethics. "Come with me to brush," he said.

Luan Xie confusingly stood up. "What?" He asked.

"Just come."

Because of Luan Xie, He Shun was now running late. He had to teach Luan Xie a lot of things, and now he was feeling unwilling to leave the house to Luan Xie. He did not know what could have happened. In the end, He Shun called in sick. He could deal with the loss of other things, but not stuff that He Shun bought with his own money, and he did not trust Luan Xie a bit.

"So," Luan Xie was sitting back on the couch. He was now dressed in a hoodie and baggy pants that belonged to He Shun.

He Shun, on the other hand, was making his bed. He sighed and looked at Luan Xie. "Let me talk," he interrupted.

Luan Xie, baffled, nodded.

"How did you come into this world?" He Shun asked, his tone switching to one radiating seriousness.

Luan Xie thought for a while, his gaze fixated on the ground. He Shun did not look away. He analysed Luan Xie carefully, waiting for his answer.

"I don't know," Luan Xie said.

He Shun was stunned. His eyes slightly widened as his lips parted apart, revealing the shock he felt. "What do you mean you don't know. There must be something that you did for you to come here."

"The last thing I did was talking to my advisor," Luan Xie said. He clearly did not like the way He Shun was talking to him. It felt like Luan Xie was being wrongly accused.

He Shun plopped on the bed, sitting down in deep reflection. He came across Luan Xie's advisor a few times while reading the book. The latter was not that important to be played by an actor in the movie.

The only thing He Shun remembered was the advisor's name, Zhong Qing. It fitted well for someone with such a job. Zhong Qing signified a deep, focused affection or devotion to one person.

"How will you even go back if you don't even know the reason behind your appearance here?" He Shun said, feeling a bit frustrated.

Luan Xie glared at He Shun. "Well, I did not ask for your help, so don't feel obliged. I can fend for myself," he retorted.

He Shun scoffed. "Yeah, right, as if. Last night was just a trailer. You can't survive in this world on your own. So don't be a prick and learn to ask for help. The world does not revolve around you to be at your service."

Luan Xie stayed quiet. It was obvious that He Shun's words made him angry, but deep inside, he also knew how true those words were.

He Shun sighed. "Forget it. Because of you, I already missed a day to work. Now, I can not afford to risk my health. I am going to make breakfast. If you want to come, come. If you don't, then starve," he then left the room without giving Luan Xie a chance to speak.

Luan Xie rolled his eyes, obviously irritated by the fact that a man with no power, whether physically or mentally (not really. Luan Xie knew that He Shun had better control over his state of mind, but Luan Xie would never accept that), suddenly found himself to be superior than Luan Xie.

Defeated, Luan Xie made his way to He Shun. He grabbed a seat on the chair near the table as He Shun put the food on the table.

Without missing a beat, He Shun started to eat. He was hungry and exhausted. Thus, the food gave him energy. Luan Xie stared at him, trying to copy the way He Shun ate. But he failed.

"Don't... Do you have chopsticks?" Luan Xie asked.

He Shun looked at Luan Xie in disbelief. "Chopsticks to eat burger? Just grab it by the sides and bring it to your mouth," he said.

Luan Xie frowned in disgust. If he were to do that, his hands would get dirtied with sauce. He absolutely did not want that. He was royalty, and royalty had a way of living.

"That is very disgusting," he said.

He Shun rolled his eyes as he took the last bite of his burger, making sure to lick the sauce off his hands. Luan Xie kept his gaze on He Shun, gulping for some reason as the latter kicked his fingers with cleanliness.

Luan Xie looked away, almost reflectively. He felt his ears warming up. Maybe that was just because the room was hot. It had nothing to do with He Shun, or so Luan Xie tried to convince himself.

"Just eat it and then wash your hands," He Shun walked to the sink and washed his hands thoroughly, as if to show Luan Xie how to do such thing.

Luan Xie still did not feel satisfied with the response, but he was not going to argue further and then suffer in hunger. He'd rather eat the burger with his hands than asking He Shun for better food.
