We do not now where magic came from in this world, but humans have relied on it ever since creation. In modern times, magic power is measured by a system, The Elementix System.
Not only does it measure magic power, but mana and element infinity. Mana and element infinity is measured separately and put together to measure mana level. That is the Elementix System.
The headmaster pulled out the element measurement scale from under his desk. It was a flat metal tale, all that I needed to do was flow mana onto the surface of the plate.
"It's time, " the headmaster said. I held out his hand towards the plate and flowed mana into it. The results.
Fire: Medium, Water: Medium, Earth: Very low, Wind: Low, Lightening: High, Special magic: Hell flame.
Mennis- It seems that your strongest element is lightening.
Kelvin- Really, last time I checked it was Fire and since when did i even have an infinity for earth.
Mennis- This is more than incredible. Most people have a maximum infinity of three elements.
Kelvin- Yes but my little sister as an infinity for all the elements and as six special magic abilities.
Mennis- Anyway, it's time for you to take the mana test. Just follow the hallway to the right, then make a left turn. You will find the way to the underground training center.
I took the directions given to me and appeared at the entrance. There was a large TV monitor and a crystal ball in front of it, that measured mana level.
Did you see the previous girl; she scored a level of 3030.
But the boy before scored 3139. People chatted all around the whole room. "3139? isn't that a little too low, " I thought.
What I did not know was that the system the school uses a new system that was different from the old system he used back at home. The average level for the old system was 10,000 to 100,000 and the highest being 1,000,000. Kelvin's mana level on the old system was 801,280.
In my mind, 3139 was just too low. After the next person who scored 703, I stepped up to the crystal ball and placed his hand on top of it.
I was confident about his score; I even thought it had increased since the last time I checked. But the final score was not what I had expected. 3101?! That can't be right. This is the lowest of the low, but how.
I saw shocked, I thought there was something wrong with the system or that I just had become weak. Everyone was amazed, it was the second highest level so far.
I went back to the headmaster's office for an explanation, but his assistant stopped me because he was currently busy meeting with an important person. The headmaster's assistant escorted me to one of the dorms he was going to be staying in.
The assistant had more work to do preparing for the class selections. He left me off at the entrance and handed me the key to my room. "Your room is number 11 on the second floor, " he said and later left.
I carried my bags up the stair to the second floor. Walking along the hallway, there was another path to the left, but I paid no attention and continued down following the order of the numbers on the door until I reached at 11.
This must be it. Out of my pocket I removed the room key and unlocked the door. The door handle turned, and the door swung open. There was a boy that was lying on top of the bunk bed, swinging his feet in the air as if trying to walk on it.
Upon seeing me, he stopped what he was doing and sat up right. I walked in with my bags and closed the door behind me.
? - Who are you?
Kelvin - I think I'm your roommate.
? - Right, I heard you were coming.
Kelvin - I'm Kelvin by the way.
? - Oh, sorry I did not introduce myself. I'm Timothy, but you can call me Tim-O.
Kelvin - There's no way I'm calling you that.
I put my things where they were supposed to be and both of us got to know each other a little bit more.
Timothy- Oh and, I'm taking the top bunk.
Kelvin- huh?
