Timothy had something to do so he excused himself and went back to the dorms. Theodora and I were left just the two of us. "I guess this is what you call a date," she said in a chicly way.
I was caught by surprise and did not know what to say, but I had no choice but to answer, "I guess it is." both of us felt a little embarrassed and there was a moment of silence.
Theodora could not understand, she was aways good will boys, but she did not know why she felt this way towards me. "So, who do you think you'll go up against in the tournament," I asked, breaking the silence.
She was zoned out, as if she was on another planet in her head. I called her name, and she broke out of it. I asked again about the tournament and this time she answered.
"I don't know, but I hope it's not someone with fire or water magic arts." She said this because this would make her use one element art as her main offense, when she was accustomed to using both.
She then asked in return, " what about you." I thought for a little bit and responded, "I hope it's Timothy, I think I have a way of beating him." Theodora was curious and wanted to know about his plan, but I told her to wait until the match, if it ever happened.
Later that day, Timothy and I met up back in our room after I escorted Theodora to the girl's dorm. Timothy told me about the other contestants, they were no ordinary opponents, and I knew that.
Meanwhile, David the son of the current Destroyer was preparing for the tournament when his father came to visit him. "Father, it's so nice to meet you. I hope you are well," he knelled down before him and bowed his head a little.
His father was stood in his room, scaring his roommate. " Do not disappoint me my son," he said and vanished into thin air. "Yes father," he remained saying.
A Destroyer was a person who kept the world balanced. If the world had no Destroyer, the world would become unbalanced and destroy itself. On a scale it was him against the world. If any injustice were to befall the world, he would act accordingly.
That is why Destroyers have stopped wars with single spells, does not work with any government and is the strongest in the world.
The Destroyer is the strongest of the eight master clans. Then the Kennidy clan, which is of the royal family, then the third is the Summy clan, followed by the Karuta clan.
Tencent, Shidono, Shikigami and Mali clans follow behind.
The next morning, the matches were already set and put on all the notice boards in every dorm and also on the school's official website. For the first match ups, Elizabeth Kennidy would face off against Theodora Tencent, Oliver Shidono vs David Destroyer, Kelvin Karuta vs Timothy Tencent, and Richard Mali vs Ben Sammy.
For one day two matches would take place. Therefore, the tournament would last 4 days. On the fourth will be the final. The contestants are required to equip themselves with basic Din equipment.
They also allowed to use weapons best suited for them. A magic veil will be casted to avoid serious injury or death. Therefore, the only way to win is to; Knock your opponent unconscious, knock him/her out of the fighting area or submitting.
Note. If a contestant does not make it to the match before intended time of the match to begin, that contestant will be disqualified automatically, making his opponent the winner.
The winner will be rewarded with a medal for the strongest first year, earn extra credit, a pass that allows him/her to skip class for whatever reason and will be considered for a spot on the student body council.
The instructions were loud and clear, Timothy and I read them like a book on the notice board, and the tournament was starting this afternoon at 4'o clock pm.
Little did I know; my father was going to be one of the VIP guests. In fact, all the contestants' parents were going to be present. It was only because of them that the tournament was being held in the first place.
