"Does she want me in her team that badly?" Daniel thought after hearing Nana's proposition. "Anyway, tomorrow I'll take my first mission. Since I'm technically without a team, I'll need to do things myself. A mission outside the village would be great; I'm tired of staying here," Daniel mused as he entered his abode. It was a nice house fit for four people, though it was near the district where the Uchiha lived, making the price cheaper. By using his clone and some very legitimate approaches, Daniel acquired the money to get his own place, which was rather empty for the time being.
Walking to the kitchen, he muttered, "Not much to work with. Maybe I should turn the backyard into a garden." He browsed through the kitchen, picking up some leftovers and heating them up. "Man, I could kill for some vorse," he sighed as he stood over the stove, reheating the soup.
"As you've observed, I've been following you guys during the test, and I can tell you've got potential. Join my team, and I'll take you under my wing personally," Daniel reminisced, recalling Nana's proposition. It would've been tempting if Daniel wasn't already above Kage level and didn't need any assistance.
"And what benefits would I get from that?" he asked, raising a brow.
"Hmm, I might not look it, but I specialize in fuinjutsu along with taijutsu. I'm sure someone like you would benefit from me," Nana proposed.
"Hmm. It sure is a good proposal. I could use her as an excuse for my knowledge and advancements in both areas. Since, unlike Naruto, I don't particularly have a trainer and I've only shown talent that's more or less on par with Sasuke at this point," Daniel pondered.
"Even that isn't enough to entice him," Nana thought, seeing Daniel considering her proposal.
"I really don't want to be in a team," he voiced. "But I also want to learn from you," he added.
"You really want to go solo," Nana responded with a slight grin. "How about I make you my disciple for now, and occasionally you'll join us on missions, and you can go solo," she said, not wanting to let such potential go to waste.
"I can go with that, but what about the team?" he asked.
"Don't worry about that. Since you already rejected joining, I'll have to make things work," she said as she vanished.
After recalling that moment, Daniel ate his food, sitting alone in his house. The silence was no stranger to him; he'd experienced it far more when in the void. "I wonder if things were different with Team 7 this time. It did take a while, but I managed to teach Naruto more about analyzing his surroundings. I freaking had to channel chakra in his head to enhance his mental capacity for six months to get him to gain a few points in intelligence," he scoffed, remembering something unpleasant.
"That reminds me, using that technique, I've been able to artificially awaken those siblings' Mangekyou Sharingan and completely brainwash them too. Since technically the clones I made using Piccolo's ability are more like offspring, after mastering Buu's abilities, I absorbed those extra Sharingan and made four clones, each with one, and awakened the MS for one of them. Then I reabsorbed it to get those MS abilities. If I do it a couple of times, I can get any MS ability I want," Daniel pondered. "Those clones and the Uchiha puppets are currently dwelling in my body in a stasis form, so I can release them anytime I want. And if I master fuinjutsu, I can just summon them," he thought.
[A/N- Basically MC can absorb parts of other people and extract their DNA and fuse it with the clones he makes to create well offspring and also by manipulating the clones genes he can also isolate those genes to create clones of the samples he took and absorb them. Yes, he can literally revive the dead clan's in Naruto or make his own clan vy himself]
As a new day arrived, Daniel went to the mission assignment desk to take his first mission. "Letter delivery near Iwa, in one of the villages between Konoha and the Village of Stone," Daniel read as he took the C-rank mission.
"You can't take this since you're a genin without a senior instructor. I'd recommend you start with a D-rank," the receptionist said, barely looking up from his desk.
"Why don't you take this one?" he presented a D-rank mission assisting the mail department.
"It says it's for an entire week. I'm not looking for an internship, you know," Daniel replied, not very pleased.
"Like I said, it'd be no problem if you were in a team, but for teamless genin, we are stricter in mission allocations to avoid unexpected scenarios. But don't worry, with each mission, we'll award you points. The more you prove yourself worthy, the more missions you'll be able to take on. Of course, with recommendations from higher-level ninja, you can take on higher-rank missions," the receptionist ninja explained.
Daniel left without taking a mission, thinking he would call in a favor from his master. "Judging from Team 14's chakra signatures, they are also doing those miscellaneous assignments," Daniel muttered. "Hmm. Guess they're done now," he said as he waited by the mission assignment building.
"Well, look who it is, an instructorless genin," Ando smirked as Team 14 arrived, his dislike of Daniel ever strong. "Were you waiting for us to come here so you can beg sensei to take you back?" he said, hands on his hips, trying to stand dominantly against Daniel.
"Yuki," Daniel greeted as Yuki responded with a slight wave. "New guy," Daniel greeted the new member of the team.
"Not easy being teamless, is it?" Nana said smugly. Daniel, seeing her smug smile, knew she expected this to happen.
"Maybe I should've taken that D-rank mission and let my clone do the work," he thought. "I'm not getting a recommendation, am I?" he asked.
"Come on, what do you think of me? I did make you my disciple after all. I'll give you one when you master the basics of what I'll teach next week," Nana replied as they walked past Daniel.
Baring through it, Daniel made ten shadow clones, one going to take a mission after which it sent the details to the other clones telepathically.
"Kid, you need something?" the receptionist ninja asked.
"No, I'm good, ninja dude. I'm just waiting to complete the mission," Daniel responded as he leaned on the desk. The receptionist ninja was slightly pissed but held his cool. Daniel, seeing the ninja holding his frustration, smirked and let out a small chuckle.
"Yo!" Another Daniel entered the assignment building.
"Shadow clone?" the receptionist ninja pondered as another Daniel approached.
"Mission complete!" Daniel warranted as the ninja finalized the process.
"Now..." The two Daniels rubbed their heads as they took a bunch of D-rank missions and registered for them at the desk. "We'll take these," they slammed 15 D-rank missions on the desk. You could see the brow of the receptionist twitch as he just kept silent and proceeded with Daniel's requests.
Daniel leaned on the desk, a mischievous glint in his eye. The receptionist ninja, already weary, braced himself for what was to come.
"Hey, ninja dude, do you know any good ramen places around here?" Daniel asked, tapping his fingers on the desk rhythmically.
The receptionist sighed, "There's Ichiraku Ramen. It's popular."
"Cool, cool. So, what's your favorite flavor?" Daniel continued, clearly not interested in the answer but enjoying the conversation.
"Shoyu," the receptionist replied curtly.
"Nice choice. You know, I once tried making ramen myself. It was a disaster," Daniel chuckled, ignoring the receptionist's lack of enthusiasm.
Every few minutes, a clone would pop in, finalize a mission, and disappear. Each time, Daniel would strike up a new, equally mundane conversation.
"Do you think cats or dogs make better pets?" Daniel asked during one of the intervals.
"Kid, I'm really busy here," the receptionist replied, trying to maintain his composure.
"Right, right. But seriously, cats or dogs?" Daniel persisted.
"Cats," the receptionist muttered, hoping to end the conversation.
"Interesting. I always thought dogs were more loyal," Daniel mused aloud, not letting up.
At one point, Daniel started humming a catchy tune, tapping his foot loudly against the floor. The receptionist's eye twitched, but he said nothing.
"Hey, do you know this song?" Daniel asked, still humming.
"No," the receptionist replied, his patience wearing thin.
"It's a classic. You should really give it a listen," Daniel suggested, as if they were having a friendly chat.
Another clone came in, completed a mission, and puffed away. Daniel leaned in closer to the receptionist. "So, do you think ninjas ever get bored of their missions?"
"Kid, please," the receptionist said, his voice strained.
"Just curious. I mean, always being on the go must get pretty dull, right?" Daniel continued, enjoying the receptionist's growing frustration.
Finally, after the fifteenth clone completed its mission, Daniel stretched and yawned. "Well, it's been fun, ninja dude. See you around!"
The receptionist, now sporting noticeable eye bags, watched as Daniel left, relieved but exhausted from the relentless pestering.
"There you go," the ninja said, hoping this would get Daniel to leave, but no, he just stood there. One clone disappeared, and every ten minutes, a Daniel clone would come in to finalize completing one of the missions and puff away. Fifteen times this happened, with one Daniel clone not leaving the reception desk, chatting up with the receptionist and annoying him. You could see the eye bags on the poor receptionist ninja as he endured Daniel's antics.
