Arriving back in Konoha, Daniel reported in about his mission. As he walked through the village, he was greeted by the sulking face of his former teammate, Yuki.
"Is something wrong?" he asked, his tone softer than usual.
"And why would you care?" she replied, clearly not in the mood to talk.
"Guess I reap what I sow," he mumbled, scratching his head awkwardly.
"You're quite the charmer, aren't you?" Nana teased as she approached the two. "It's no way for colleagues to treat each other, is it now?"
"No, it's fine. I actually deserve it if I don't say so myself," Daniel replied, shifting his gaze from Yuki to Nana.
"Well, would you look at this, both my puppies are maturing," Nana thought to herself.
"Did something happen?" Daniel asked again, this time directing his question to his sensei.
"Hmm. It's a team-related matter, you see," Nana replied with a smirk.
"I see. Then I apologize for putting my nose where it doesn't belong," Daniel responded with a slight bow before continuing on his way home.
Entering his house, he was welcomed by the mess created by his clones from plant research. Dirt and uprooted plants were everywhere.
"This won't do at all," he muttered as he walked through the chaos. "Let's regroup for now," he telepathically communicated with his clones. "It's not like we're in a rush, so let's take things a bit slow," he sighed, heading upstairs.
"Huh, what was that about?" one clone said.
"I doubt it's because of the mission," another replied as they cleaned up.
Entering the bath, Daniel contemplated his mission. "Although I dealt with their problem, I can't help but think about what I'm even doing here," he pondered. Yes, he had reincarnated, but with how overpowered he was, he hadn't considered the gravity of his new life. He simply lived on whims. But after seeing the disparity on the village head's face, he couldn't help but remember the wandering villagers who had taken him in and the event that happened due to him losing control.
"I think my actions should reflect more on the sincerity of those villagers," he sighed, reflecting as he took a long bath. "I remember the Zabuza arc taking a couple of weeks, so my training with Naruto will be on hold till then," he said to himself.
As Daniel soaked in the warm bath, his thoughts drifted back to his recent actions. He couldn't help but cringe at his childish antics. The mission had been a success, but the way he handled himself until now left much to be desired.
The steam from the bath enveloping him in a comforting haze. "i should start acting more my age."
He remembered the look on the village head's face, anxiety for the safety of his people, could Daniel ever feel that way. It was a stark reminder that his actions had consequences, not just for him.q
"I can't keep living like this," he thought, determination hardening his resolve.
He felt a sense of calm wash over him as he got out from the bath. It was as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. He knew it wouldn't be easy, but he was ready to change.
As he stepped out of the bath, he felt a renewed sense of purpose. He dried off and dressed, his mind clear and focused. He would start by cleaning up the mess his clones had made. It was a small step, but it was a start.
[A/N- I wanted the mc to be childish kinda like Ben who said he acted childish to hide from the weight of the power of wielding the Omnitrix. I wanted the mc to lose something precious to him due to these antics]
After Daniel's small revelation, he decided to take a small break to collect his thoughts. He strolled around the village, deep in thought. "I want to apprentice at the ninja research department so I can increase my understanding of chakra theory, or whatever they call the science of this world. I want to see how far I can augment things using chakra not just plants. Maybe I can stumble upon a different approach altogether in technological advancement," Daniel pondered as he walked.
His wandering led him to the hospital. "Excuse me, I'd like to learn more about medical ninjutsu," Daniel asked at the reception desk, a hint of excitement in his voice.
The receptionist, always happy to spread knowledge of medical ninjutsu, smiled and gave Daniel directions to where he needed to go. "Although I have Buu's healing abilities, I still want to learn more about this world's techniques. I guess I'll always be a sucker for learning," he chuckled to himself as he followed the directions.
He found himself in a nearly empty classroom where medical ninjutsu was taught. There, he noticed a certain kunoichi struggling to perform the mystical palm technique. "Why can't I get it?" the girl muttered in frustration.
The mood shifted as the teacher and the girl looked up at Daniel, who had just entered. "Excuse me, but I was interested in learning about medical ninjutsu, and the lady at the desk guided me here," Daniel said, bowing in greeting.
"Oh, well, come in. We're always happy to welcome new students. I'm Ryosuke," the teacher introduced himself with a warm smile.
Daniel took a seat in the classroom, eager to begin his journey into the world of medical ninjutsu. Ryosuke, the teacher, began the lesson with a warm smile.
"Medical ninjutsu is a delicate art," Ryosuke explained. "It requires precision, control, and a deep understanding of chakra. We'll start with the basics and gradually move on to more advanced techniques."
Daniel listened intently, absorbing every word. His Chakra control was already great which made it easier for him, focusing on channeling his energy with precision.
"Remember, Daniel," Ryosuke said, observing his progress, "medical ninjutsu is not just about healing wounds. It's about understanding the human body and using chakra to influence it in positive ways."
The lesson for the day came to an end, and Daniel had already shown he could grasp the basics of the technique. As he left the classroom, he came across something interesting.
"What are you doing here? Are you following us?" Ando's voice roared from the room on Daniel's left.
"Dude, I didn't even know you were here," Daniel replied, looking at the bandaged-up Ando.
"Well, this is unexpected," Nana said, arriving to visit Ando. Yuki was already inside the room.
"What happened to the other guy?" Daniel asked, a slight hint of remorse in his voice as he noticed the somber expressions on Team Fourteen's faces.
"He lost an eye and is currently going through treatment for the trauma he experienced," Nana replied.
"Doesn't that mean you're lacking in teammates again?" Daniel asked.
"That's for me to worry about, kid," Nana brushed off his concern as she entered the room where Ando was.
"I can fulfill that role for a while," Daniel said. Nana stood still for a moment, and Ando and Yuki were perplexed by what the two were talking about.
"Ho! Didn't you say you weren't interested? Don't tell me you can't handle it going solo," Nana responded, turning around to look at Daniel.
"That's not it. It's more like I want to..." Daniel stuttered. He wanted to observe his team and how they reacted on an emotional level . For someone with the power to change the entire course of the Shinobi world, he had no real-life drivers and was void of attachments. He figured he'd rejoin Team Fourteen to get that feeling again or strive to get it. Yes, what Daniel was looking for, finding a sense of purpose in his life.
Nana raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "You want to what, Daniel? Spit it out."
"I want to help. I want to be part of the team again," Daniel said, his voice steadying. "I know I'm not on best terms with the rest of the team but... I want to take things slow and learn."
Ando scoffed, crossing his arms. "This should be good. The great Daniel, trying to be humble. I bet your saying that because it's hard doing mission's by yourself."
Nana looked between them, considering Daniel's words. "Alright, Daniel. I'll give you a chance."
