Everyone turns around to look at the teacher that announced the end of sparring while the unconscious student gets treated. The coach continues talking. "Alright, now for the top three. Number three is Jason with 6 arena defenses. Good job Jason, keep working on that explosiveness while striking and kicking. You rely too heavily on your grappling currently and getting close enough to an opponent can be dangerous as you noticed." Jason looks around with slight embarrassment at that last statement but seems happy nonetheless.
"In second place, Cor. I know you and Freddy both got 11 arena defenses but when looking at performance and improvement Freddy outdid you today. If you don't mind, I actually wish to speak with you after class." As the teacher utters the words, Cor's eyes show unwillingness to accept the loss. But he knows that he has no choice and deep down he even understands the teacher. He still seems to rely too much on his pure strength and he knows it, but it got him so far already. Who knows, maybe he doesnt have any talent in actual martial arts, but just brutal fighting. He for sure doesn't look forward to finding out!
"And in first place, Freddy. 11 arena defenses and you weren't beaten once! Good job, I'm looking forwards to seeing you break into the upper class soon. You are defenitely ready right now." Freddy's face lights up at the compliments. He is quite used to becoming first every now and then but a teacher telling you that you are good enough for the upper class is another thing entirely! "Thank you so much teach! I will do my best."
"Alright everyone! Get back to your rooms and do your workouts. In 3 hours it's time for lunch and after that your next classes so don't slack and do the workouts before that time!" As the teacher is saying this, everyone is already grouping up with friends and heading out of the training facility. Even the other teachers walk away. Eventually only Cor and the head teacher are left.
Cor is getting quite nervous now. The teacher already tried coaching him sometimes but his muscle memory kicked in every time it got a bit dangerous, making it seem like he was not listening at all to the tips! As Cor locks eyes with the teacher, teacher H (their real names are never given out to students), he starts sweating. The teacher has a judging look in his eyes. 'I really, really hope I wont get points taken from me or anything like this. I did so much to get to this point! Soon I finally have enough point to try getting into the upper class!'
"Alright Cor. There is some stuff we need to talk about. Let's start with the fact that, the way you are now, you most likely won't be getting into the upper class soon and definitely won't be able to catch the eye of scouts. This is because you currently do not showcase any capability in excelling in the most important type of combat. Combat with weapons."
