In the NSC library, two older gentlemen are talking to each other. They are carefull not to make much noise though, as loud noises could interrupt the students that are curently there trying to study using their precious points.
Studying at the library costs 1 point per hour. This seems like a good deal, but when considering how hard it normally is to get points it really just isn't! It's basically a scam almost, especially if the student wants to go for a more knowledge based skillset! This just goes to show how survivability gets prioritized over smarts in these colleges. This does make sense however. If a student would really want to improve on his knowledge instead of his physical skills then that student should just have tried joining a science college instead!
But it is still necessary for most students to study here at least for a couple of hours every month. Thus, its common sense to not disturb each other.
Unfortunately, Cor seems to have forgotten about this etiquette as he approaches the man to the left, saying "Hey can I ask you something sir?"
The man flinches, hearing the suddenly loud sound close to him. "Boy, don't you know where you are? Keep your voice down!" He whispers, even though shouting silently might be a better description.
"Oh, sorry sir. I'm just looking for a weapon. My name is Cor?" As Cor apologizes, the eyes of the man soften a bit. He remembers being just like this kid. Brazen and bold with no regards for etiquette.
"Sure, I'll help you. Come with me, I want to interview you a bit first and see what your physical qualities are. Even though when looking at you I can take a guess..." And thus, the two of them walk into a smaller room.
As they walk out, surprise is visible on the older mans face. His code within the college is advisor ZM. The two letter code being there because advisors in every college have to have those, since they have to work together sometimes and having the same letter as your code or "name" makes work harder than necessary. However, within the college everyone calls him old man Zimmer for reasons yet unknown to Cor.
To back to the surprise on old man Zimmers face. The reason he is surprised is because the level of intelligence, both emotional and actual, that Cor has shown in the interview was nothing like what the old man would expect from a famous brute within the college.
In fact, the old man could even say that Cor could be seen as cunning. There is no reason to share that with the other advisors however. In fact, the contents of the interview are normally not documented at all and if they are, the documents are destroyed as quickly as possible.
However, old man Zimmer has taken the documents with him for now. He wants to be able to review the answers so that he can provide Cor with the best weapon-related advice as he possibly can. The choice is still up to Cor in the end but it is mandatory to listen to the advice so Cor has to wait another day or two before he can finally pick a weapon for himself.
In the meantime, he goes back to his normal schedule for the day.
