Chapter 13 - Chaos

Upon arriving at the main lobby a now clear problem presented itself.

More monsters.

Of course, this was to be expected, but the implication of more monsters (and the teachers and upper classers fighting for their lives against them) is terrible.

It implied that the whole building is being attacked and the teachers are indeed preoccupied with fighting even stronger monsters!

Also, the monsters in the main lobby seemed to be not only first grades, but also second grades and even a third grade monster!

While first grade monsters are basically stronger animals, the higher grade monsters become more and more monster-like.

Cor doesn't really know much about the grades 4 through 8, only that a grade 4 monster already needs an actual elite to defeat and that the strongest monsters on earth, the ones that keep the top elites occupied which makes them unable to easily take over nature are grade 8. There are actually rumors of a grade 9 monster existing, and being the reason that so much of earth is covered in nature instead of it being a 50/50 stalemate. But that is only a rumor and not something to really consider as a grade 9 monster would be pretty much impossible to hide with all the death it would cause.

About grade 2 and 3 however, Cor actually has plenty of knowledge. This is because monsters under grade 3 are central to many important courses since middle school because those monsters are both the most common to encounter and the ones most likely within students capabillity to fight in the future.

Simply said, grade two monsters require multiple common nature survivalists or one very high level nature survivalist (for reference, upper class students in a mid level NSC like this are considered below common level nature survivalists) and grade 3 monsters require multiple high level nature survivalists or a 'very low level elite' (Cor now knows that this probably means a pseudo elite).

In the main lobby, Cor sees students with teachers leading them, fighting grade 2 monsters. Also, multiple teachers are fighting the grade 3 elite and the rest of the students are fighting the grade 1 rats that are comming from multiple corridors.

It's a mess.

There where holes everywhere in the walls and monster (and student) corpses where strewn on the ground, so many even that they where hindering the fights.

Cor looks at the situation, thinking about what he could do here.

He could contribute in the fight. This would have a chancd of dying, sure, but if they win and fend of the attack eventually then Cor's contribution will be of major help to his education. Both because of the experience of fighting the monsters and because he will definitely be rewarded!

But that is only if they win.

On the other hand he could run. He would have to break through the wave of monsters first but it is doable. After all, he did a similar thing to escape the corridor.

Running would mean that he would have to fight through the whole college all the way to nature though. And 'escaping' would mean having to survive there! Sp basically it looked like suicide.

But this situation of monsters appearing everywhere is too odd. Something was defenitely off and if that something was targetting the college than maybe being stuck inside it was more dangerous than being outside...
