Fortunately he did not have to stress about this for too long.
While Cor was punching and kicking rats for his life, the teachers fighting the grade 3 monster finally finished their fight.
The large Lizard-like monster screamed as a spear got embedded into it's throat. Together with the plethora of daggers and arrows decorating it's hide and the slashes from the swords it was finally too much for the monster to handle. With a loud scream, it went to the ground, never to rise again.
The teachers, now free from the grade three monster, finally had time to work on the grade 2 monsters in a more effective way. And even though everyone was getting tired from the constant fighting, with the help of the teachers the grade 2 monsters in the lobby itself where cleared within 2 minutes.
These minutes where almost deadly for Cor. With the rats becoming more frantic, trying to reach not only the humans but the powerfull monster corpses in their hunger as well, Cor had to go all out for far longer than he wished.
But it was all worth it when a teacher appeared in front of him suddenly, easily dealing with multiple rats. The ease with which the teacher pushed so many rats back was a humbling sight to Cor, and as he looked to his left and right a similar view could be seen everywhere else as the monster where being fought back to all of the different holes and doors leading to the lobby.
"Quickly, drag corpses to the entrances! We have to barricade them!" Yelled a teacher. And Cor once again shot in action, carrying two rat corpses at the same time to one of the doors.
Soon, piles of corpses where obstructing every door. The monsters outside now not only had a harder time coming in, but also no realreason to do so anymore. There was enough food piled up for a lot of them, allowing the group within the lobby some momentary rest.
The teacher near Cor tapped him on the shoulder. "You kids did very well!" He said, proudest showing on his face. As Cor looked at him, he recognized him as his history teacher. He did not immediately recognize him as he only went to history classes around once a month. "I think you two together took out pretty much the most monsters out of all the students! When we get out of here we will be sure to reward you all heavily! I think even upper NSC's aren't out of the question as so much practical experience at such a young age is hard to come by!"
Hearing this made Nero even happier than the praise. A bright future was waiting for him, just at the end of this ordeal! But now was no time for celebrating. They should focus on making an escape plan-
"We make a great team bro!" Shouted a girl at Nero, disrupting his thought. He turned around to see his mystery companion, and what greeted him was a someone he didn't expect to talk to him in that way.
"You're Clara! One of the top upper classers!"
Exclaimed Cor in surprise.
"I sure am! And you are the beastly brute of the middle class right? Was it Cor? I heard some upper classers talk about you and your fighting 'style' so I was always kinda wondering how it looked in real life but apparently your strength is way more than they could have ever anticipated! You where knocking out rats left and right!" Clara started rambling enthusiastically. She just kept on talking about how Cor handled the rats and how he was a "monster in human skin". But Cor did not listen too attentively, as he was looking at Clara. And he was starting to blush a little. She was really quite beautifull. And they made such a good team! Could this be...
