It's been 2 weeks...
Don't worry I haven't been slacking off. I ran some errands such as getting a spear and checking how much money I can ste- have. How much money I have.
Other than that, I mainly just trained with my newfound spear and basic physical exercises. Oh, and I practiced runes as well.
'I think I'm ready for that Realm. It shouldn't be too tough, Adrian found it at the beginning of the school year after all.'
'That bastard, he isn't even the protagonist, and he has the heaven-defying luck EX. I wouldn't be surprised if he had the harem protagonist EX as well.'
I walk inside the train finding a seat nearby to quietly sit down. The train is quiet, no conversations or conflicts. Everyone is practically just looking down at their phone.
I set my down my spear leaning it on the side of my seat. In a world like this nobody questions someone carrying a medieval weapon on the train.
*********
'The mountains...
why do all hidden dungeons or Realms have to be at mountains. Why not just at the park or something. Though it wouldn't be that hidden.'
I quickly make my way to the entrance of the mountains.
Opening the gates with no resistance I make my way towards the dungeon. Cutting through trees and bushes with my spear.
A bright purple sphere swirling around with mana. The leaves around it getting pulled in while it tugs on the grass below. The trees gently sway towards it.
As I stare at it in awe. The first Realm I've set my eyes on and the first I'll be defeating.
'Yeah... this is it. The Stymphalian Bird Nest'
'More importantly, this writing is a piece of crap. Seriously how did nobody notice a purple orb of mana just swirling around in the mountains.'
I cautiously step forward into the spiraling orb of purple mana...
A peaceful lake covered in mist. The chirping of birds can be heard throughout the area. Not a single disturbance in this art of nature.
In the middle of the lake sat 4 bird nests hovering around them stood these metallic birds, similar in appearance to cranes.
'They don't seem to notice me yet.'
There sat a white-haired youth with piercing green eyes wearing a simple white blouse, spear in hand...
hiding in a nearby bush.
'Well, there isn't really a good way out of this. If I use a ranged attack all the birds will be alert. If I try to lure a couple over here the birds will just call all their friends.'
I decide to recklessly charge forward onto one of the smaller nests.
Screech!
'It seems they noticed me.'
Three metallic birds locked their eyes on me capturing the attention of all the others.
Suddenly...
Clang!
One of the birds rushed at me though I quickly parried its bronze beak with my spear.
I immediately go on the counterattack thrusting my spear towards the newfound opening.
Another bird dashes at my spear aiding its friend, I'm forced to dodge out the way of the incoming attack.
'What is this crap. It's a three on one.'
I quickly get in a defensive stance ready to block any incoming attacks.
'There's a reason why I wanted to specifically take on this Realm right now. I spent an entire week just on the 1st art.'
"1st Art - Call of the Thunder."
In that moment thunder bursts out from my spear incasing it in a layer of lightning.
This is the Combat Art Odin taught me: Spearmanship of the Ninth Rune.
The rune that grants me the ability to control the weather.
'Luckily these birds are made out of metal. Steel is weak against Electric.'
I quickly rush for the bird on the right thrusting my spear at it...
I pierce it, lightning flowing through its dead carcass. I keep the momentum going launching myself at the closest one.
It easily evades the strike and launches into the air diving down for a counterattack.
"You're really quite stupid, aren't you?"
It collides with my spear; immediately getting shocked in return. Not letting this opportunity escape me.
I drive my spear into its head as it was paralyzed from the electricity.
Screech!!
The last bird realizing it couldn't defeat me called for back up from the other nests.
I immediately dash at it thrusting my spear trying to prevent it...
the bird collapsed to the floor, electricity running through it.
The bird might have been dead, but I was still too late the other birds quickly came flying over to see what the issue was.
Suddenly 6 of these metallic birds were hovering over me looking down at me in contempt for killing its kind.
'I'm so fucked.'
