Lorenzo was in his office going through files containing information on every underboss who was under his rule, he had three suspects so far and he was worried someone may try to use his wedding as a cover to do something.
Someone knocked on his door twice, pausing his actions. He stared at the door briefly then ordered the person in.
Aunt Amelita came in and stood by the door watching him with an apprehensive look in her eyes which immediately alerted Lorenzo that something was wrong. He froze wondering if she had said something to Celeste.
"What have you done?" He said in a cold voice, his eyes narrowing.
Aunt Amelita rolled her eyes at him, something she could do and get away with since he respected her, but he wasn't going to hold back if she ruined his marriage.
"Why did you quickly conclude that? Your lady is still downstairs having fun with her friends oblivious to your lies" Aunt Amelita said in a sharp tone, the same one she used when cautioning him as the stubborn and fierce teenager he was then.
"Aunt I have no time for your mind games what do you want?".
Aunt Amelita narrowed her eyes at his dismissive tone, but she had a different goal in mind.
"What's stopping you from holding Pietro accountable for his crimes?" She asked.
Lorenzo was taken aback by the question. He had held back out of respect for his Aunt but it seems it was never needed in the first place.
"Isn't it obvious why?" He shrugged.
" Oh please don't pretend to be a saint and tell me you were doing it for me" she scoffed, before going to sit down on a lounge by the corner of the office.
Lorenzo turned deaf ears to her last statement and Aunt Amelita smiled. She knew why he was doing it but it never failed to warm her heart that he put her feelings into consideration.
But those feelings had died a long time ago and that was why she didn't want the same for Lorenzo. Being with a woman who hated him because he wasn't the one she loved.
"I will handle him soon and all his properties will be given to you", Lorenzo said, but Aunt Amelita shook her head vehemently.
" I don't need anything from that man just do what you have to do..." Aunt Amelita paused briefly, " And keep an eye on him tomorrow, he is up to something".
Lorenzo's eyebrows shot up in surprise at her words. If had known this was how she truly felt about her husband, his Uncle would have been rotting in an unmarked grave by now. But it wasn't too late to make that happen.
"Consider it done Aunt Amelita, that won't be a problem" Lorenzo smirked.
Aunt Amelita stood up to leave, but she had one more thing to say.
"Tell that girl the truth, she deserves it or you will regret it eventually," she said before leaving.
Lorenzo tried to concentrate but her passing words left him uneasy.

Finally, the long awaited day arrived and the grand family house of the Martinos was alive. Shouts and orders rang through every floor and window.
Last-minute details were added and despite it being on a smaller scale than how original mafia weddings were meant to be, it was still obvious that someone of authority was getting married.
Upstairs in the bride's room, Isabella and Rosa were calming Celeste down as her emotions were all over the place.
"Bella, do you think I'm making a mistake?" Celeste whined as the make-up artist bit back her tongue to prevent herself from groaning in frustration because this was one restless bride.
"I think you are making a mistake...but fuck what I think though since I think everyone who gets married is insane, but doll I know you're gonna be fine," Isabella said tapping Celeste's hand.
Rosa swallowed nervously, as she wondered if she was a bad friend by not telling Celeste the truth. She had confided in her best friend and husband about her fears, and he told her to leave it to fate. Maybe she should just let fate work its magic.
"Rosa, is everything alright? You look sick" Celeste asked concerned.
"I'm fine just nerves" Rosa smiled reassuringly.
The make-up artist was finally done. She had gone for an ethereal look given the Bride's skin which was so smooth, soft and pale.
She moved back to admire her work. This was one beautiful bride she thought.
"Are you done? We are gonna be late" Isabella grumbled.
"Where is Uncle Theo? He is going to walk me down the aisle!" Celeste shrieked, and Isabella rolled her eyes.
"Girl if you don't calm down I'm calling off this wedding and I don't care if your husband is a deity to be worshipped."
Rosa smirked at Isabella's frustrated outburst knowing if Isabella knew who she was referring to, she wouldn't be so bold.
"I will go check if Uncle Theo is here" Isabella added just to soothe Celeste.
"Thanks, Bella". Isabella nodded before leaving the room. She was skeptical about this whole marriage stuff and how jittery everyone seemed around Celeste like they knew something she didn't.
She could hear the whispers from servants whenever Celeste was around and it was unsettling. She was so lost in thought that she missed a step. A short scream tore through her throat as she flailed her arms trying to gain balance, while the ground loomed close.
Just before her face smashed into the marble floors and her blood spilled casting an ominous sign on the wedding, someone yanked her roughly to her feet.
Isabella slammed into a solid frame that cut off her breath. Whirling around she turned to face her savior and offer her thanks, but the look in his eyes shut her up.
He was a work of art. Felix her on-and-off boyfriend looked like a scarecrow compared to him. The expensive suit on those muscled arms would have her ovaries weeping.
"This isn't a playground girl, watch where you're going or stay inside before you cause trouble" he warned, his blue eyes mocking her.
Isabella snapped out of her eye fucking as his words sank in, then felt her temper boil, Oh for the love of everything blue, his shade of blue was one she knew she was going to hate.
"I don't remember asking you to help me pretty boy" she bit back, her ego smarting.
Luca's eyes narrowed as he watched her storm off after her little comeback. Who invited that little spitfire into the house? Was she the lady's sister? He wondered.
Shrugging he continued walking to Lorenzo's office to tell him that his brother, Marcello was on his way. Halfway he ran into Uncle Pietro and his senses became alert.
This was their number one suspect and his look was too smug for Luca to overlook. The older man acknowledged his greetings with a brief nod before asking about his wife, to which Luca replied that he had not seen her and he continued on his way.
When he got to Lorenzo's office, he knocked thrice and waited. "Come in Luca" his boss called, and he walked in.
Lorenzo stared at his best man expectantly, this was a role reserved for Marcello but circumstances didn't permit it.
"What's the news?"
"He is on his way, and every soldier under my command is with him Boss" Luca affirmed.
"Excellent, now we leave for church before my wife arrives," Lorenzo said, pushing back a stray lock of his hair.
"I met your Uncle on my way" Luca added just to be safe,
"Leave that sack of old bones, I'll deal with him later. Right now I have a wedding to attend and it's mine" Lorenzo said pointedly before leaving the office with Luca.
