Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Unfamiliar Place

Kyra POV

I huddled myself in a small cave, my eyes fixed on the downpour outside. The rain was relentless, sheets of water cascading from the heavens. I couldn't quite grasp how I had ended up here.

When I was driving home, my car broke down. While walking back home, I somehow ended up here.

I don't know where I was but the trees loomed larger than life, their trunks thicker and their branches more sprawling than any I had ever seen. It was as if I had stumbled into a rainforest, the foliage so dense it seemed to swallow up any hint of light. A tremor of fear ran through me. I was alone in an unknown place, with only the sound of the storm to keep me company.

Despite my efforts to remain calm, fear gnawed at me. I tried to steady my breathing, reminding myself that the rain would eventually stop. When it did, I would venture out to find a road and make my way home. But as the environment darkened, my fear grew. I prided myself on being strong, but in such unfamiliar surroundings, even the bravest could falter.

My heart pounded against my ribcage, each beat echoing in the cavernous space. The cold seeped into my bones, my wet clothes clinging uncomfortably to my skin. I hugged my knees tightly, resting my head on them in a bid for warmth and comfort. Sleep eluded me, the cold and fear keeping me wide awake.

I lifted my head, scanning the cave once more. The darkness was oppressive, broken only by the occasional flash of lightning illuminating the torrential rain. I felt a knot of fear tighten in my stomach. My head throbbed with a headache, a dull ache that made me long for the comfort of my own home, a warm bed, and a cozy blanket.

Suddenly, a growl pierced the silence. My breath hitched, and I curled into myself even more. In the pitch-black darkness, the sound of footsteps approached. My body stiffened, and I felt a rush of cold fear. I was sure I was about to face something dreadful.

"Growl..."

"Growl..."

Summoning the courage to peek, I opened one eye, my gaze meeting a pair of ocean-blue eyes. I froze, staring at the creature before me

"Wolf..." I muttered as a pure silver white wolf, its fur drenched from the rain, stood there, head tilted in curiosity.

The wolf shook its body, sending droplets of water flying. I watched, captivated and terrified at once.

its thick fur gleaming in the dim light. After shaking off the rain, the wolf took a step closer, its eyes never leaving mine.

My mind raced. I had always considered myself strong, but here, faced with a wild creature in the dead of night, I felt utterly vulnerable. I didn't know what to expect from the wolf. Was it dangerous? Off course it was.

The wolf took another step closer, then another. My breath came in shallow gasps, my heart racing.
