"Woah? Look at those skills! I can already see how OP those are!"

The story of the Fenrir wolf was already familiar to Wren, as it was part of one of the largest and most widely spread mythologies back in his world. Norse mythology is so wide and has so many histories that it took Wren a year just to finish everything.

And among those stories, what left the most impact on him was the story of the Fenrir wolf. Fenrir had been mentioned the least and even his own story wasn't that narrated well. But he has a big part in the completion of the key points in the whole history of the Norse mythology.

After all, Fenrir wolf was the one who had killed the main god in the Norse mythology, Odin. So Fenrir Wolf was an important part as the biggest villain in the Norse mythology—like literally big both in physics as well as metaphorically.

But Wren is not curious because of these achievements but because he wanted to know more about what the background story of the Fenrir wolf was. Since upgrading the summon using the [God Magnet] skill, Wren was hoping to see something new on the updated description of the skill.

Like an additional background story about the Fenrir wolf but nothing like that happens. The updated version of the description after the upgrade was still the same information he painstakingly gathered in his former world.

Wren shook his head and instead took a good look at the provided skills.

"Wait, why is there an unavailable skill?" he asked with a frown.

He's getting more familiar with how the system works so he did not hesitate to click on the so-called unavailable skill, which directly provided another system panel for him.

[The skill [Chain of Gleipnir] required the host to get the item for activation. Only when the host acquires the item [Chain of Gleipnir] can the skill be use.]

"Of course. It's called the [Chain of Gleipnir] skill because it was a skill using the chain that was used to bind the Fenrir wolf. Why have I forgotten about it?" Wren exclaimed, even hitting himself on the head.

Well, can't be blamed. After all, who would have thought that the thing that caused the Fenrir wolf to be caged for so long, restricting him of his freedom? Is it really fine that it would become a part of the skill set like it was a part of the Fenrir wolf? Isn't that the same as mocking the Fenrir wolf?

Then Wren suddenly remembered Hunin's parting words.

"You know, even if the venerable gods look formidable in their own myths and tales, they were still an entity that can be removed. That their immortality couldn't save them. That's just how the law of order works for everyone, whether they are humans, interstellar species, or immortals; as long as it is written in the law of order, their fates will be sealed as is."

"The venerable lords may be able to change the human's fates with their divinity as immortal gods, but against the law of order? Their power wouldn't work; however, they tried to change the course of their future. That's just their fate. Unfair, right?"

Those were the sad words that Hunin left to him before they parted as his answer to Wren's confusion on the issue of the awakening. After the meeting, Wren did not forget to ask about it to Hunin while they were on the way to his home. Hunin drove him home again since it was on the way to the hotel where the other was staying.

Wren was really shocked when Hunin clarified everything to him. How the venerable gods' connection to the world and about the sad truth of their existence.

It was a well-known fact that these venerable gods came into existence through the accumulation of humans' faith. The more humans believe in them, the stronger they will become. And the stronger the faith they receive, the more power they will accumulate as a god.

That's why when those catastrophes started destroying the Earth, humans could only put their hopelessness back to the lost faith they had in the forgotten beings, only then did these beings come back into existence.

In a more short but detailed version, these beings may have the power to change the fates of humans, but the humans also have the hold of whether they will continue to exist or have to perish.

If this was revealed at the time when the earth and the humans living in it were still at peace, people might really be willing to remove these mythical and legendary beings' existence.

But in the current era? Even the lowest and most useless being can remain to exist. As long as they can be summoned, and any human who got them as vessels will be their die-hard believer. And that was enough to replenish them to exist forever.

If it were only this truth there is, Wren can accept it. Because that was just fair on both sides. But not when the 'Law of Order' came into the scene. Ironically to its name, the entrance of this unknown existence broke the fairness that was maintaining the peace and calm between the humans and the venerable beings.

Because of the so-called overendulgence of the venerable beings to the humans, the fate of the humans, which had been long written in the 'Law of Order', had almost changed.

It was a breach of the law of existence that was bestowed on the venerable lords. A punishment must be implemented and the 'Law of Order' didn't make it easy for the venerable lords.

After the creation of the god system, the first batch of the awakens will also be the last who received the direct blessings from the venerable lords because the 'Law of Order' had ruthlessly cut off the ties of the venerable lords in the world.

They were no longer gods, deities, and mythical beings that could still manifest a body and even their corporeal bodies were taken away from them. They become an existence without any body to portray.

That wasn't only their punishment. They were also moved to another realm different from all other realms. They couldn't leave and they couldn't bring others inside. What was more unfair was how their connection to the humans was still working. But this time, they couldn't get the hold of the humans while humans still held the rope that was the only thing holding to their existence.

This was supposed to totally cut the ties between humans and venerable beings. Human evolution could no longer grow while the venerable lords could no longer connect to the humans.

But fortunately, when the awakened humans had successfully given birth to their children, a miracle happened. When the children reached the age of eighteen, all these children had awakened a system that was no longer controlled by the venerable beings. Just like how it was worded out by Mr. Campbell in the meeting.

At least, this was still a little helpful to the venerable lords because, as long as they could still receive faith from the humans, they could still extend their powers to humans through the god system.

But this news greatly confused Wren about his system. Since the venerable lords had lost the strength to change human's fates, who then brought him to this world and in this body?

Didn't this also mean that the original's fate was changed? So who brought that change? That couldn't be the 'Law of Order', right?

Anyway, Wren had noticed that his mind had gone astray when what made him remember the parting words that Hunin had for him after seeing the unknown tag on one of the Fenrir's skills was how mysterious fate can be.

As for the reason why, Wren shrank it off his head until it completely disappeared in his head. Wren was one hundred percent sure that the moment he dug deeper, not only would he zone out again, but he might also get confused all the more.

"So...is it time to open a gift box? Let's put it to my luck if I get the Gleipnir or not."
