Chapter 4 - 4th: God System 000

AFTER CALMING himself from the excitement, Wren firmly held himself back from tearing his mouth because of his wide smile. He could only massage his jaw while faking a serious look as he stared intently at that blue interface in front.

Fortunately, he didn't give up on trying to check if he really remained system-less. Or he might have missed this big, fat chance that the gods have given him.

After all, he might have died in envy just by looking at those lucky people who can master the skills and powers of those mythical gods and creatures he only once read from all the records and studies that he had gathered in his past life. What more when it was already too late for him to learn that this body of his had awakened a system? He might as well have died with regrets.

Wren cleared his throat as he followed the guide on how to open his status window.

"Status open."

With a special sound effect, the interface flashed before him, changing what was being shown. The welcoming words about the system activation became a special window interface with a lot more information.

It was like he was looking at his own game profile, just like those MMORPG games that have a player profile. Wren eagerly read the information included in his own status profile, one by one.

——

Personal Profile

Name: Wren (Wren Adams)

Gender: Male

Age: 20 (32)

Species: Federal Human (American)

Class Identification: Legal Orphan

Parents: Unknown

GS Number: God System 000

——

Wren frowned while looking at his registered profile. He could still explain why his name was indicated in parenthesis. As it was part of the federation law—an orphan at the age of twenty must separate themselves from the orphanage; they don't need any guardians since they are now of legal age.

And with that, they were also given a chance to give themselves an identity, in which they could either change their names or just add some common surnames to have a complete identity.

And the original Wren decided to use the surname 'Adams' as his surname, which for him, the current Wren Adams, was more than a lucky coincidence.

But how can he explain the numbers and words inside the parenthesis stated with his age and species?

As far as he knows from the original's memories, this profile status can be shown to everyone as long as the owner allows. With this, Wren can still hide it. But when in front of the hunter association, it will become a big problem!

Before Wren could properly think of a solution, the system made a move for himself. No. It's not actually a move but it was like the system had read his mind and given him an answer by flashing another system interface just beside the old one.

[The additional information inside the indicators was hidden and only the host can read or see them.]

That was all—very short and cold—but it still gives Wren great relief that he could not help tapping his chest lightly.

"Thank you, System 000."

Wren foolishly thanked the system despite knowing that this was not a sentient one like those systems in novels that he heard from some of his acquaintances.

The system answered by making the second interface disappear, leaving the one with Wren's profile.

This didn't break his good mood, as Wren could finally proceed with reading the following information that was new not only to him but also to the original, who had been system-less since birth.

The first page of his profile information is all about his background information. When Wren clicked on the next page, it turned out to be about his god system class.

This made him more curious and excited since this was the first time he would experience something so magical. It was like he was inside a game and was looking at his game profile.

——

God System 000

GS Class: SSS (L)

GS Archetype: Infinite

GS Total Summon: Unlimited

——

"What the—!"

Wren tried hard to keep himself from cursing. What he read was really so shocking and unbelievable that he wanted to stop himself from dreaming.

Yes, because practically speaking—according to what the original has normally known about god systems and such—all of the written information about his god system and such was so OP that it was unbelievable in all senses!

Just look at his system class! Is there anyone in the records of the Hunter Association who had more than one 'S' in their system class? Not only that but his optimal class rank had an 'L' written on it and as an ordinary human from a modern Earth era who had the majority playing MMORPG games, anything with 'L' such as items and such means it's a legendary class, which is the highest.

Does that mean that his god system can be leveled up to a legendary class?!

Then what does the 'Infinite' mean in his god system archetype? As far as he knows, archetypes are the types of mythical beings that the god system can summon.

So what's going on with being infinite? Does this mean that it is also unlimited, like the number of his summons? So, in other words, he can have as many summons as he will?

"Shit! This is too OP!"

All this information was enough to make Wren feel special; it made him feel not burdened but more motivated and stimulated, and he wanted to do a chicken dance.

He could already see himself in the future using many powerful skills from not only one or two OP gods but more than that. And he would definitely do it like he was just doing a solo fashion show!

But the question now is how. How can he summon the gods and creatures he wants? Can he also do the same as the others who activates their summoned vessels?

Well, for now. What he needed to do was see what was in his summoning inventory. As for how many summons were in it or what, he can think about it after.

With that, Wren can only turn it to the next page to take a look at his summoning inventory.

——

Summoning Inventory

Total Summon: 1/∞

Available Summon: 1/∞

Optimized Summon: 0/1

Current Summon: The World's Beloved Son

——

Wren nodded, satisfied at the infinite signs inputted in his summoning inventory. This only clarifies that he really can summon as many mythical beings as much as he wants.

But looking at the optimized summon, Wren thinks that there seems to be a requirement for him to enable himself to summon as many gods and such.

Maybe there is a requirement, like having to level up a summon to its optimized class for him to freely summon it together with the other optimized summons.

He wanted to test if what he speculated was correct but he currently can't do that as he only has one available summon in his inventory.

"The world's beloved son?" Wren asked himself, subconsciously reading the words stated on his current summon vessel.

A frown appeared on his face as he tried to remember from his own memory if there was any character like that in any mythology, folklore, or tales that he knew of.

Aside from the one in that holy book he was reading before he reincarnated, he never encountered this title. So just who and what does this title mean?

And Wren is hundred percent sure that his title is not the same as that mentioned in that holy book. Although the one in the holy book was not technically the world's beloved son but specifically God's beloved son.

And that would be too OP for him if that's the case and being that OP doesn't vibe with what he wants. It might be cool at first, but it will become boring for him in the latter part.

While thinking, Wren didn't know why a certain scene from his own memory appeared in his mind. It was when he was on an exploration with his friends in an ancient cave in a Western country. And among them was a newly added female who, like him, paid for her slot to be included.

That woman also loves reading books but not the same kind as what he loves. What she likes to read were those fiction novels written by humans. According to her words, the current book she was reading was the reason why she wanted to join their team and explore an ancient cave—something like that—that's why she was curious to try it personally and then she started to share the book with them.

While retelling them the story of the book, the lady mentioned how the protagonist in the story was the world's beloved child, and that despite his life experience, which best describes the term 'against all odds', he was still able to have the happy ending that everyone wants.

"That's it!" Wren excitedly exclaimed.

According to the lady's explanation of the term 'the world's beloved son', the world in that novel has some kind of consciousness, just like a creator god that decides the life of the protagonist. Isn't that the same as how some of those mythological gods and beings appear in their own tales?

So does that mean he will also have the skill of the protagonist in the woman's story? Living against all odds but still has a happy ending? Well, living despite struggling and ending up with a happy ending is not boring. Isn't that what made it more exciting?
